EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Jan 30, 2007 Bottle. Classic tripel yeastiness and hearty spiciness in the nose, some alcohol, very true to style. Clear golden-orange body with a sticky eggshell head. Thick, syrupy mf with strong alcohol presence (but I do love the booze in muh tripels) and loads of yeast and spice (lots of clove) with some peach and apricot. Doughy malt and incisive lemon, light vanilla. Slightly harsh. Very warming, full-bodied and delicious. Medium-sweet, strongly sour to finish, with a medium-strong bitterness; overall, very robust. At this point, probably the best American-made tripel I’ve had. stison42 (318), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Jan 21, 2007 Updated: Jan 22, 2007Milky orange. Pungent was the first word that came to mind to describe this beer. Just a hard bad fruity taste to it. wheninhell (485), louisville, Kentucky, USA Jan 16, 2007 2006 x-mas gift from amy. clear orange with a disappearing white fluffy head. warm fruity bubble gum aroma. hint of clove and vanilla. flavor sweet banana bubble gum with toasted nutty notes and hints of clove. spicy clove medium dry finish. strong vanilla presence throughout with a hint of tart green apple and white grapes as well. warm alcohol on finish. creamy mouthfeel. lively carbonation. nice complex. i enjoyed this one quite a bit. beerczar69 (39), Pennsylvania, USA Jan 15, 2007 Copper color and surprising great taste.Rich thick palate and great smell and very smooth.Worth a try. GG (1613), NorCal, California, USA Jan 12, 2007 Popped this open on New Years Eve. I had been sitting on this for a year, after purchasing from Hi-Time in Costa Mesa. Last Stoudt’s beer I had wasn’t bad but far from anything that I’d call "must have". This beer poured out a deep copper/gold color, clear with nice lacing and good head. Aroma was sweet, reminded me of peaches, yeast and some spices. Flavors were yeast, sea salt, dried apricots and slightly sour (very slightly) with a bit of a heavy-handed alcoholic bite to it. Good stuff. mike mcneil (660), St Augustine, Florida, USA Jan 5, 2007 Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with some chunky floaties. Produces a thin and quickly vanishing head. No lacing at all. Pleasant, fruity aromas of apricot, pear, green apple are dominant with some notes of spices, malts and banana lingering in the background. Mouthfeel was disappointingly flat and sticky for a Belgian-style Triple. One would expect a much more lively level of carbonation for this style. Flavor was quite authentic to style revealing sweet, ripe fruit, caramel malt, spices and a touch of pepper, lemon juice and a restrained hop bitterness which kept the sugary sweetness in check. An admirable attempt at the style, but if I’m in the mood for a Triple I’d prefer the real deal from Belgium over this anyday. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Dec 29, 2006 Bottle. Pours a cloudy orangish amber color iwth a minimal white head. Aroma is fruity and blunt. Tastes tangy with a bit of bitterness. Not bad, but not an everyday beer. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Dec 22, 2006 2003 750 ml. Orange with apricot highlights, this pours with a small head. The sticky over ripe sweet fruit taste abounds with apple, peach and grape. The alcohol blends nicely with sweet malts and is just lightly dry and creamy.
