Commercial Description:
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

Stoudts Triple 12 oz bottle Recent bottling, liberated 10/06 Medium pour in a tulip glass Poured a murky bright copper orange with a smowhat lasting fizzy white average-sized head with no lacing. Smelt of moderate all-spice, cantalope, sweet ripe bananas, and some doughiness. Some very faint alcoholic burn. Taste was quick upfront sweet banana bread caught up with some light bitter spice followed by a heavy bitter moldy horseblanket bitter finish and a subtle pleasant flowery hop kick that appears on the average length finish. Mouthfeel was creamy on a dry finish, medium bodied, fizzy with moderate astringency on the finish and a trace of alcoholic warmth. Overall, the aroma is pleasant, but the flavor on the follow through is too harsh on the tastebuds and the palate.

Extremely spicy Belgian style. Poured on tap, it’s much mor emilder than in a bottle. Unfiltered pour, browninsh-orange. Allspice and cinnamon flavors. There’s some bite on the tongue. I prefer a milder Belgian Triple, but this one’s on par with many of the other domestics in the US I’ve tried. (Brewery on tap 09/23/2006 - Bottle Pour 10/01/2006)

(07.03.06) 12 oz brown bottle from Bierkraft, Brooklyn, NYC. Poured hazy amber with small white head. Soft carbonation. Fruity malty aroma. Medium bodied Belgium style ale that starts with moderate sweetness and fruity (grape or pear), citrusy (dried orange peel), spicy flavors. Slightly tangy. Finished with light malt fade and light bitterness. Definite alcoholic warmth. A very good drinkable Belgium-style ale. Enjoyed with beer-loving family members during the 4th of July weekend.

Pours lightly hazy brown with a small white-ish head. Aroma is quite fruity wtih an emphasis on a grape flavor that is between white and concord. There is also a little spice and noticable alcohol. Medium / full boy with a light amount of carbonation. Starts out with the grape from the aroma, rich smooth malt and earthy yeast. The finish has light prickly feeling from the carbonation, more yeasty qualities as well as light caramel malt and alcohol. While not a pure interpretation, for the price this is a very nice American style tripel.

Bottle, Sept 2006. Pours golden, somewhat cloudy. small white head. Smell was citrus, sweet/malt, and a hint of alcohol. Taste, alcohol was present, but not overpowering. Not the best Triple, but very good. Taste was of spice, citrus and lastly hops.

12oz bottle via trade with Dorwart - Thanks Jason! - Pours amber cloudy without much head. Aromas of caramel, bread, and some apple, citrus. Flavor is very yeasty. Notes of caramel there too and some apple/pear notes. Some light spice on the finish as well which is quite dry. Alcohol is well covered.. Light carbonation.
