ehhdayton (1113), USA Aug 23, 2006 Pours a cloudy amber with an off white head. Aroma is spicey, fruity, and alcohol. Flavor is full bodied with a nice sweet and alcoholic quality with a bit of spiciness and hops. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 18, 2006 Bottle: Nice cloudy orange-rust color with wisps of yeast fluttering about and a cream-foam head. This has a big spicy, yeasty nose. Likewise the flavor of this beer is BIG ... robust warming alcohol-based body with a spicy flourish ... clove, pumpkin. Intense. This is like an "Imperial Tripel" if there were such a thing. Quite delicious. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2006 pours a light orange. medium carbonation. The aroma is pretty fruity, get apples/pears, tart lemon, and spices. Taste is estery apples, it has a full rich body across the palate with tart citrus flavors and alot of spices, especially clove and black pepper. zanad96 (11), Frederick, Maryland, USA Aug 5, 2006 Pours with a white head and lace. Has slightly fruity aromas that remind me of apple that come off of the beer. Smooth taste and finish. Quite a good beer. JB175 (1660), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 31, 2006 Updated: Jan 6, 2007Pours to a nice golden-caramel color. Sweet, multi-fruit smell. Pleasant melon-grape-apple taste that finishes well. Leaves a pleasant summer fruit taste in your mouth. Not outstanding, but a good offering from Stoudts. kimcgolf (825), Dacula, Georgia, USA Jul 27, 2006 Pours to a hazy copper color with off-white head that lingers through mid-glass, and leaves good lacing. Initial aroma of malt and dark fruits, mostly grapes and figs. Flavor at first is spicy fruit, with malty sweetness. As beer warms at mid-glass, alcohol becomes more evident in both the aroam and the taste. Finish leaves a sweet, syrupy aftertaste, accompanied by an alcohol-induced warming sensation. a good beer for sipping one, but definitely not a session beer. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA Jul 26, 2006 Pour’s a hazy rich copper with a half-inch ivory head. Nice persistent lacing. Smell is very fruity and strongly spicey. Lots of apple and plum aromas and a bit sour smelling. Peppery.
Big powerful flavors in this one. Very pronounced alcohol, spicy (white pepper, paprika, etc), caramel and molssess in the malt. Nice drying hoppiness inthe finish. Quite sticky mouth though with a bit of alcohol in the aftertaste as well. A sipper for sure but a damn interesting one.
Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 25, 2006 Thanks to CaptainCougar for sending this my way. Cloudy golden-brown body with minimal to no head. Aroma is fruit based, orange, apple, bananna, pear, maybe some light grains such as wheat. Great taste, smooth with the typical Belgian spices mixed in. Nice warm alcohol ending.
