Commercial Description:
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

Pours amber. Aroma of malt and citrus. Taste is sweet. Citrus and honey. A bit sweeter than most triples. A good beer but not great.

Really disappointed by this example of the style. Cloyingly sweet and no hint of alcohol- something I would look for in this tyle.

Pours a light amber/ dark straw with a lasting white soapy head. Aroma is of sweet mangos and tangerines with a hint of corriander. Nice. The body is on the heavier side of the style, not refreshing, more like a strong golden. The Flavor is very sweet with lots of candied oranges and honey. A bit cloying in the finish. No hop character at all. A bit under-attenuated and as such lacking the refreshing character that I look for in the style as one would find in Cinq Cents, and Karmeliet Tripple.

Bottle. Never had this style before, but it is good. Sweet and fruity with a mellow aftertaste, light alcohol taste even with 9%.

Offwhite, smallish head; hazy red body. Sweet, spicy aroma of paradise seeds, stale hops, and bread, with something sharp in it. Sharp taste of paradise seeds and citrusy hops, faint roasty notes. Citrusy hops and bitterness make up the van. Quite good, but too much yeast, not enough balance, and not enough complexity.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy orange body with a small white head. Aroma of light citrus and ginger. Flavor of orange peel, ginger, and more alcohol as the beer warms.

I have had this beer a few times over the last couple of years. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy dark golden color with a small white head. The aroma is very sweet and has a strong tangy ripe fruit element. The flavor is strong sweet sugar with ripe fruits and honey. There is a mild alcohol burn. The mouthfeel is moderately thick.

Very pleasant first whiff, huge malty with a vinous edge. Caramel notes and I agree with Lumpy’s note of honey. A little thin around the mouth. Some later senses of confectionary sugar and caramel, spiced. Bronze/yellow with an off-white ring of head. Pretty good in the major dimensions.
