The Stoudt’s Abbey Tripel has a slightly soured malty aftertaste that I’m not fond of. When I taste a bottle-conditioned beer like this I think it probably just needed to "condition" a little longer. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA

Almost no head, deep rusty reddy brown beer. strong alcohol taste and a hint of figs, honey, and earth. Very nicely heartwarming for the end of october. Only complaint is that it doesn’t mask the alcohol too well and it gets bothersome after you’ve drank about a third of your brew. Thank the Good Lord Almighty for Pennsylvania brews. Pours a thick, very dark orange with a tight white ring for a head. Sweet aroma, essences of red licorice, alcohol, and bubble gum. Sweet flavor with some candied sugar, sweet cake mix - orange perhaps - whichh was my favorite as a kid, and a touch of yeast. Mouhfeel is pleasantly thick and not too spritzy. VEry goo American take on a Tripel. iam (369), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Has that cheesy hop component signature to Belgian tripels but with some twists. There is a fruity spicey bitterness that kicks in slightly at the tail. Alcohol is well hidden except for finish. Complex palate. A+ for effort!! Engelsmann (653), Copenhagen, Denmark

choice beverage! Time has elapsed and I have forgotten who it was exactly…
There is a giant mass of powdery yeasty fallout in the bottom of this bottle…. This Triple pours a beautiful amber / orange body and a mature off white head. The aroma is immensely fruity and sweet… but with a hint of tart yeastiness in the finish. Slightly perfumey upfront, yet steeped with some amazing old-world barely and a strain of yeast that contends with the most traditional of Belgians Triples. The flavor has a wonderful mass of caramel and toffee, with smoky hints of molasses, plums, apple, peach nectar, green raisin, black peppercorn, clove, lemon grass, orange zest and an ever so slight mention of genuine musty farmyard funk can be found in the finish…. The palate is sticky sweet and finishes fruity and oily…. AMAZING! This is the very best of any American made Triple I have yet to come across!
