COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

12 oz bottle. hazy orange-amber beer with a thick pale tan head, sticky lace. Very dark for a triple. Aroma of clove and bubble gum. Very yeasty smelling. Some apple and sweet Belgian malts mixed with the aroma of overripe fruit. Flavour is very sweet and a bit boozy. Peppery spice over a sweet pale Belgian malt backbone. bubble gum, some orange, apple and peach. It’s alright, but not what I consider a good triple to be.

Pours a nice amber color with a large head. Flavor was not quite what I was expecting. This thing is a ,ittle more hoppy than any other triple i had had. Different, but not that great.

Slightly cloudy copper pour with small frothy head. Aromas are floral and fruity with a sweet yeasty backdrop. Flavor is pretty big. Slightly astringent character is a bit distracting, but nice sweet malt mixes with clove-like spices and fruit notes in the guise of apple and orange. Fairly decent, if the flavor could do a bit more to cover the rubbing alcohol flavors that develop about midway through.

Dark red color, pretty surprising to me for a tripel, taste is smooth and crisp, slightly hoppy. Easy to drink, spicy and yeasty and overly malty. I almost thought this was a barley wine, then I read the label. Not too shabby.

Pours a cloudy dark reddish-orange color with a very thin white head. Aroma is sweet of fruits, spices, and alcohol. Flavor is pretty much the same with some alcohol warming to finish. A decent brew but I’ve had better from Stoudt’s.

A decent beer absolutely ruined by the dry chalk palate. Very spicey and promising in the beginning of the mouth, that gives way to the taste of licking a dusty chlakboard in the back of the throat.

Bottle dated 2/18/06: Pours a hazy copper color, looks very much like unfiltered apple juice. Mild carbonation with tons of small particles suspended in the glass (i’m assuming that it’s yeast sediment, this being a bottle conditioned ale). The aroma is sweet and fruity, some candi sugar, perhaps? Taste is fruity as well, hints of apple, orange peel and (surprisingly) peach. The alcohol is fairly noticeable on the swallow, not overwhelming but it makes its presence felt enough to take a little off the drinkability factor. Average mouthfeel. Overall, a nice warming sipper, I will be picking up more of this very soon!

I’m enjoying this right now in sunny Florida. I had a case brought down from Pennsylvania around Christmastime. And no, this isn’t the first one I’m drinking….I’m about half a case in. In any case, word on the street is that Stoudt’s is going to be distributed in Florida....hmmmmm. Traditional Abbey Tripel....spicy and fruity aromatics. Pours an orangey hue with a fine lacing of foam. Covers its strength well (I’m downing this one in more than just sips and its definitely going to my head). Another fine beer from this brewery.
