Commercial Description:
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

a very nice full bodied beer with complex taste somewhat sweet but has some spice to even things out.

Bottle. Poured into a chalice it starts out foamy but thins to minimal head. Nice banana bread/raisin aroma. Spicy (almost citrus burn) on the tongue with a warm, sweet on the lips and spicy alcohol finish all the way to the stomach. The spicy overwhelms the flavor on this one but the warming is nice. This is an ok cold rainy day beer. Drink two and you don’t really mind the rain and won’t notice the cold.

Sampled at Stone 9th Ann. party. Maybe I like tripels more than I think. I had a few today, and they were all pretty good. Fruity nose, and spicy flavor. Dry finish. Not too bad really.

Bottle: Courtesy of Shadey via trade. Very nice aroma that contains yeast, banana, apple, caramel, honey, light clove, and the slightest hints of alcohol. Pours a very hazy reddish-orange with a small off white head that quickly diminishes to a ring. Flavor up front is fruity with apple, banana, melon, and raisin. Strong peppery yeast finish with some light orange peel, light bitterness, and the perfect amount of alcohol warmth.

Bottle. Hazy ambery orange. Huge spiced aroma, with some yeast, and some citrus, maybe banana too. Flavor packed more spice hard to me, to the point where I could almost feel it on my breath after drinking. Very dry finish, spicy and a bit peppery. Good but not balanced.

Hazy orange/copper. Bubbly light tan head. Malt, sugar, dark dried fruit, subtle alcohol in the aroma. Same flavor with some dopplebock characteristics (banana, clove, lighter carbonation), also a very dry finish for a triple. Full body. Very good.

Poured a hazy orange, minimal head, and sediment on the bottom of the glass. Aroma of sugar, fruit, yeast, and alcohol. Flavor starts sweet then turns peppery from alcohol and finishes dry with spices and notes of bananas. Pretty warming with a medium body. Not very balanced and a little too spicy for my taste.

Rather nice for a triple. Flavor was well balanced, a little sweet, but didn’t come on quite as funky as most triples I’ve tasted. Not much spice as in most Strongs but still managed to taste very "Belgian."

Rerate: Sipping my girlfriend’s at room temperature brought out an overwhelming scent and taste of japenese fried bananas. MMMMMMMMM!
