ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Aug 25, 2005 Pours a darker amber body - cloudy, no head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty, and sugary with hints of banana and citrus. Flavor is dominated by a yeasty sweetness. Pretty smooth for 9%. Enough complexity to keep me interested, despite a yeasty dominance. bigrond (1043), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 23, 2005 this beer made me winch. Very strong alcohal taste - overpowering everything else. First poor sample I’ve had form stoudts. But I’ll try more from those guys, TomDecapolis (3130), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2005 On tap at Ortino’s Northside. Pours a hazy orange amber with a small white head. Standard tripel aroma of banana, some citrus and spice. Palate is a bit thick with an alcohol burn at the end. Flavor of alcohol up front with a floral, citrus and spice in the taste. A nice feel and taste overall. Could not have a bunch of these due to the "thicker" feel but still a solid tripel. Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 20, 2005 Updated: Aug 26, 2005Tried this again and it was really really good. Don’t know what happened last time but THis was great. Was incredibly smooth. Had a lovely ginger taste i thought and was kinda sweet tasting too. The other time i tried it, it had to have been a bad batch or something wicked went wrong. Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2005 On draught at the brewpub, aroma honey, yeast and nutty. Arrived to me in a horrible beer tasting glass, deep drk amber with nice creamy head. Flavor was good cinnamon and pepper with a slight floral tail. Palate was light but very creamy. Overall a nice tripel. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 6, 2005 Fiery, brazen orange in color. Some speckled sediment floating freely, and a small, creamy grey head with good retention throughout. Aroma is wondrous, with strawberry shortcake, vanilla, cloves, lavender, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and candi sugar. Flavor is rich and sweet. Banana, cinnamon, cloves and pepper register first, followed closely by a saffron and floral composure with some anise to spice things up. On the underbelly lies caramelized plantains. Light yet substantive. Somewhat effervescent, but very much in control. Finishes with orange crème, pepper and cloves. Satisfyingly sweet and easily Stoudts best beer that I’ve had. Thanks for the bottle, tpkenned! jsquire (2087), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Jul 28, 2005 Out of a 765 ml corked bottle. Deep golden color with an almost brassy head when first poured. Honey sweet nose with some spicey and alcoholic tones. Honey syrup flavors with an almost peppery heat. The alcohol in noticable in the exhale. Very lively on the tongue. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 26, 2005 Diminishing head and soft carbonation; fruity, aromatic nose: honey, peaches, grass, and pepper; dubble-like fruitiness and a dry finish; orange peel and clove notes; warm alcoholic palate, finsihes yeasty and dry; a decent trip
