Commercial Description:
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

12 oz bottle, snifter. Ruddy bronze hue with a quickly diminishing white head. Warm white bread, sugar cookies, canteloupe, banana, green peppercorns, wet lawn, musty filling cabinet, honeysuckle aromas. Moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter flavor becomes a lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter finish. I really enjoy the yeast profile...like a condemned library in a bottle. Good, firm hops. Medium-full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: mine didn’t look to great, but it seems others had more luck...if a yeasty, spicy tripel is your thing, check this beer out.

Pours a light hazy gold color with a small amount of fizzy white head. Aroma is really caramely with undertones of alcohol and spices. Flavor is overly sweet, caramel, banana, spicey yeasts with a slight alcohol finish. Overall, I found the beer way to sickly sweet and I in no way wanted another.

Sweet - near honey to start, but with plenty of those delightful Belgian aspectsto go with it - complex - tart, buttery, bitter, sweet, yeasty, yeasty, yeasty. And I mean that in a good way.

Kind of a hazy caramel colored body with a thin white head. Good blend of sweet citrus and spice in the flavor with a hint of candied malts and warming alcohol. A little peppery in the aftertaste, but a smooth drinking beer.

Fruity golden colour a la peche/.apricot. Yeasty fruity aroma. Smooth drink, well balanced. Fruit yeasty taste, but also drying metallic. Light carbonation, some spice and banana. Alcohol kick

Sample, from 12 ounce bottle, at the Mondial. Hazy-oily dark gold with a light slap of foam topping...big, yeasty-bready aroma with a bit of lemon, becoming rather sour and vinegary late...very sweet and doughy, alcohol strongly present in the midpalate, tingly and peppery with a more subtle booze presence towards the end. Pretty so-so for a tripel.

Sampled at le Mondial de la bière 2005. Pours a hazy caramel color with a thin white head. Very appealing aroma of yeast, citrus and bananas. Flavor of yeast, citrus, bananas and spices. Light to medium body, creamy and oily texture, soft carbonation. Very good.

12 oz bottle. Deep golden hazy with a modest head. Very yeasty aroma with spices, orange, and some sweet malts. Good fruitiness from the yeast as it warms- some more orange with some apricot as well. Flavor is moderately sweet with that traditional candi sugar taste with lots of malt and some spice. A little bit of heat from the alcohol as it warms. Good body and not too light or watery. Very well done. Im looking forward to drinking my last 750 ml bottle soon.
