Commercial Description:
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

Pours a slightly hazy orange golden with a lightly-lacing white head. Aroma has some strawberry, caramel malt, and a soft touch of bready Belgian yeast. Starts with a nicely viscous body with good malty sweetness and some candi sugar, turning more dry and earthy toward a bittering hop finish with a touch of black pepper. An interesting tripel that could use some more complexity, but is pretty good for an American brewed version. Thanks Scott!

Yeah, it is a bit yeasty, a bit sweet. Very good though. I was impressed by it. Not as off balance as some other American made multi-fermented abbeys.

Mild malty aroma, little bit of yeast scent as well. Looks darker than other triples, almost a cinnamon color, with decent white head. Flavor has a nice spicy tang, with fruity undertones. The alcohol is only barely noticable at the tail end. Body is medium and there is the standard bitterness on the tail, and it kind of lingers in your mouth after you swallow.

This beers pours dark red and has a lot of yeast. The head is more like an IPA in appearance because it is less cloudy then a typical triple. The head is not as creamy as one would expect from a tripel. The taste is dominated by the alcohol and has wheat and fruit flavors in it as well. The problem is the bitterness is like an IPA. IPAs are the strongest asset of this brewing company in my opinion. This is not as good. The finish has a lot of hops in it. I liked it, but the finish was not like a tripel in my opinion. Pretty good and worth the shot.

Hazy gold, floaties, small head that died totally. Aroma of spice, slight clove, warming alcohol, and tropical fruit, quite pleasant. Unbalanced palate, starting with a Belgian candy sugar sweetness that is quickly consumed by a somewhat harsh alcohol note. The fruit and spice flavors are almost completely masked by the alcohol. Too bad.

12 oz bottle - Deep murky golds and ambers, thin white head. Nose held notes of spicy clove and corriander, sugared pears, light banana, with a nice bready note as well. A bit on the sweet side, nicely spiced, with a light hops rounding this out. Full bodied and chalky, medium carbonation, semi-sweet, spicy finish. Not the best, but a decent represenation of the style.....

12 oz. 2004 bottle. Cloudy amber orange with a quickly fading white head. Has a quarter inch of yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Banana yeasty/spicy nose. Taste is very sweet and malty with notes of clove, banana, coriander, candi sugar, caramel and dark fruit. Syrupy, not much bitterness detected. Slight tinge of alcohol in the finish. Very full, round and velvety smooth on the palate with lively but not too much carbonation. NIce stuff.

12 oz bottle. Cloudy, yeasty, orange ale. Lots of yeast on the bottom of the bottle - up there with hefeweizens and homebrews. Earthy, bready aroma with flowery notes. Classic triple flavor with lots of yeast, spicy hoppy finish.
