Commercial Description:
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

Mild aroma of caramel, with a relatively clear orange body. Taste is simple, but trully enjoyable. Banana, caramel and rum are the main layers of flavor, with a gentle warmth throughout. There is no harshness at all, and no alcohol hit, though the malting and candi sugar levels are high. Maybe not a technical marvel in brewing, but one of the better tasting triples from the US.

(Vintage 2002) Thin but dense head of creamy bubbles. Great carbonation. Slightly sweet aroma of peaches, butterscotch and caramel. Color is a slightly cloudy dark amber/orange. Flavor is slightly sour with more fruit (banana), yeast and a touch of alcohol. Pretty good though. Finish is a little dry and clean. Not much aftertaste besides a gentle warming from inside a slight puckerng from the light sourness. A pretty good triple.

Almost still looking peach colored nectar. Aroma of yeast, bread, candied pears, caramel. Good body, more carbonated in the mouth than it looks, sharp fruity finish. Somewhat muddled flavors with yeast, banana, alcohol. I prefer a cleaner Tripel.

12 oz bottle: Very turbid ligth amber w/ a short lived white head. laces well. Grainy malt and a soapy banana ester at first. Some sugary sweetness and light peppery yeast, and corn sugar aromas; light alcohol & flowery hop. Well balanced, but to the sweet side up front. Finish is malty sweet and a little acoholic. Aftertaste is clovey, peppery yeast and a little sweet grainy malt flavor. Biscuity, bready malt and yeast flavor in between along with a little fruitiness, sort of like juicy fruit gum. Smooth and warming, higher carbonation, lighter body. Not a bad tripel at all! Not a true classic, but very good representation. Highly drinkable!

This triple pours with a deep golden body topped by a thick head with great lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet yet tomatoy with a slight spiciness and a little citrus. The flavor is sweet and fruity with a little caramel and some candy sugar. Medium to full bodied and smooth.

Hazy orange with a fluffy white head. Smells and tastes like orange marmalade spread on banana bread. Cinnamon, clove and alcohol come through at the finish.

350 ml bottle. American trippels constantly disappoint me and this one disappointed maybe a little bit less than most. Some decent spice and fruitiness, with mid-to-high level sweetness. I truly wish our brewers could recreate the restrained sweetness and creamy body of the real thing.
