In the PA tripel race, not as good as the Golden Monkey but better than Merry Monks. What’s with the barnyard stuff? Don’t get it. jeffin7 (610), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2004 Orange and un-headed in the glass. Esters on the aroma, some citrus, light malts. The flavor is a little bitter and harsh in the hop department. The citrus comes though when tasting, but sours a little on the finish. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | Sep 24, 2004 Not the best Belgian Triple I’ve had - in fact, it wasn’t even close. The Abbey Double is a bit better. Most of their other beers are pretty good, however, and I’m looking forward to trying their Fat Dog. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2004 Updated: Oct 25, 2004(Bottled on 9/15/2004) The nose is very yeasty and exotic, almost like a weizen. The palate is full flavored, spicy, and dry for the style. The head fell fast, but a tight ring remained around the glass until the last sip. The finish is light and airy. I find the bottled version of this beer to better than the draft version that I tried recently. Overall, this beer is exotic, but it does show some alcohol as the beer warms.
The beer was a bit on the dark side for a triple. Too little carbonation and too sweet. I will try this again when it comes out in 12oz bottles. DrunkAsASkunk (847), Lynnwood, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2004 A special thanks to DocLock for this beer. This beer pours an orangey cloudy hue and a sloppy white head. The nose is full of lambic qualities with big times fruits, peach, banana, citrus, cantaloupe, pepper and ginger. The flavor is likewise heavy on the spices, especially the pepper and ginger, with wood, and a big helping of orange peel in the finish. There is also a slight hint of alcohol in the finish. It ends dry and warming with a moderate mouthfeel and highly carbonated. An interesting beer to mix things up.
