4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottled 12/12/2002, A Tripel of a different sort. Definately darker in color than most. Light tan head. Aroma dusty and apicey. I believe they use a darker maly in this as it comes through in the flavor. Malt is up front with a dry sweet / yeast finish. Different and pretty damn good.

from hopsrus. Spicy tingle hits the nose from the glass sitting on my computer table a wonderful aroma of sweet fruits and yeast upon closer inspection peaches & peppermint.Rich thick palate and it is extremely good, I really had not expected this good of a Tripel. Yeasty peach, nice lemony aftertaste nice copper color. Maybe I just got a good bottle, but this is a fine Abbey, now I would like to try their double.I'd say DaSilky nailed it with his review.

really dark for a trippel, but nicer looking anyway...thin head..chewy chewy yeasty deep spiced fruits in the nose..the yeast coming back into the flavor with chewy apricots, and fuzzy peach skins..the carbination gives birth to the reality of the peachiness and makes you feel as though you can touch the hairs of the peach with your tongue..sweet.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very dark for a tripel. Almost as dark as HOTD Golden Rose. A nice, tight head that left nice lacing. Strong notes of lemon/orange, clove and maybe some coriander. An odd sort of tripel, but a pretty good one. The alcohol is present but not overbearing. A pretty good tripel.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
02/02/02 Vintage: Pours a clear copper color with a white head that does not linger. The aroma is malty and nutty with a hint of alcohol. Full bodied with medium carbonation, the flavor is all malts, with a slightly spicy, alcoholic finish. Decent tripel, but definitely not my favorite of the style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice nose with some earth, grapefruit, and light malt notes. Amber color with mostly diminishing white head. Tastes like a warm spiced orange. Moderately acidic with a bit of sourness. Mediumed bodied with a dry texture.

I found this not as complex as their Double, but still has that sugary/spicy nose. Alcohol is much more up front and in your face.
