GMUcrew7 (353), Mason, Ohio, USA Aug 15, 2008 Updated: Feb 22, 2009Pours nice cloudy golden color with a small white head. Very fruity aroma, with hints of nutmeg, and cloves. Wide array of flavors, yeasty initially, followed by the spice and sweet fruit flavors and the alcohol is slightly noticeable at the finish. Full bodied with a dry finish. HonkeyBra (1270), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours orangish with lots of floaties, white head. Nice fruity aroma but average triple flavor, with banana and clove. The high alcohol is very well hidden. I like it. Rockinout (945), Kent, Ohio, USA Aug 13, 2008 Golden orange color with some tiny specks floating about. Smooth and fruity with a lot of spice kicking in at the finish. The taste of alcohol is masked but I felt the burn. mrmantastick (16), , Florida, USA Aug 12, 2008 orange body with white head. the head also had little flecks of orange in it. weird. the alcohol balances out what would otherwise be another overly fruity beer. nice finish that sticks around. didnt care for the smell. hombrepalo (745), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2008 Bottle bought @ sicilano’ s in Grand Rapids. Amber-orange color, moderate head. Fruity bubble gum, caramel malt, and candied banana aromas. Medium body with slight sweetness and alcohol showing through. Nice long finish was good.
ScoWRee (275), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2008 Pours a merky orange with a very thin white head that quickly disapates. Aroma of yeast and a hint of clove. Taste is a little bitter, spicy maybe a little citrus. This is a little too spicy. blklab2007 (938), Connecticut, USA Jul 16, 2008 bottle poured into a trappist glass has a murky golden yellow color, carbonation streaming up the sides, and a thick coating of white head that had great retention. aromas of pollinated yeast, nutmeg, clove, sweet melon, and dried tropical fruit. mouth feel is medium with plenty of carbonation and coats well. flavor has a spiced yeast that hits first, interesting caramel sweetness, bitterness in the middle, and finishing with some alcohol heat, dry, and sweetened spice. good attempt at the style. Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 12, 2008 Cloudy orange, thin white head. Sweet and sour aroma - not "sweet’n’sour", like the sauce you get a cheesy Chinese joints, but nicely pronounced notes of sweet and sour. Flavor is pineapple and orange followed by some herbal notes. Nice woodsy notes, as well, plus a rather pungent rosemary (?) note. Dry, woodsy finish.
