Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Dec 8, 2003 Murky, muddy beige. Aroma of peppery alcohol, some pale malts and peach esters. Firm alcoholic body, with light spiciness and hedgey hops. Finish is yeastier. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Apr 14, 2004 (750ml, vintage date 4/3/03) Chunky, murky amber body topped by big off-white head. Aroma is mildly sweet, bready, light orange peel. Taste is rich, medium sweet, raisin, bread, clove, orange peel, with alcohol notes. Medium-full body. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 28, 2005 Bottle. Orange colour with a small tan head. Fruity spicy aroma and a sweet fruity spicy taste. Medium body and a sweet finish. Not a bad American Tripel. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Mar 21, 2005 Totally opaque caramel appearance containing muddy yeast clouds. A decent white cover tops it all. Very yeasty nose where the mango clearly dominates. Not very dry for a tripel, mostly cantaloupe, orange and honey sweetness. Fairly limited complexity, and frankly a bit bland yeastiness. Strong fruitiness matches a crusty yeastiness into a condensed fruit peel finish. Overall mellow yet with biting small bubbles. Medium bodied. Atypical.. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 19, 2004 On tap at Stoudt’s Brewery. Poured a hazy amber with a very small head. Fruity, bubble gum, and slight spicey aromas. Fruity tasting. Alcohol hidden. Not a bad tripel .
