Commercial Description:
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

Really disappointed by this example of the style. Cloyingly sweet and no hint of alcohol- something I would look for in this tyle.

Very smooth, very drinkable, full-bodied, strong & complex flavors, a hint of spice & fruits, very warming effect, the alcohol is hidden pretty well, nice tripel

Slightly cloudy copper pour with small frothy head. Aromas are floral and fruity with a sweet yeasty backdrop. Flavor is pretty big. Slightly astringent character is a bit distracting, but nice sweet malt mixes with clove-like spices and fruit notes in the guise of apple and orange. Fairly decent, if the flavor could do a bit more to cover the rubbing alcohol flavors that develop about midway through.

Darkish copper color with not much head. Aroma is a honeyed sweetness with a good deal of alcohol on the nose. Light palate for a heavy beer. Taste was generally sweet, with very little yeast character present. Just a basic triple, with the alcohol being a bit too noticable.

12 oz. 2004 bottle. Cloudy amber orange with a quickly fading white head. Has a quarter inch of yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Banana yeasty/spicy nose. Taste is very sweet and malty with notes of clove, banana, coriander, candi sugar, caramel and dark fruit. Syrupy, not much bitterness detected. Slight tinge of alcohol in the finish. Very full, round and velvety smooth on the palate with lively but not too much carbonation. NIce stuff.

12 oz bottle purchased at Oak Tree, hi Dan and Jay. Poured a hazy brownish/orange with a large soapy white head that rapidly disipates and leaves no lacing, bummer. Nice aroma with lots of candied sugar, green apples, toast and yeast notes. Medium to full bodied with a smooth finish and average carbonation. Fruity flavor with notes of apple, brown sugar, yeast and dry toast. I served this one a bit to cold, God Damn well functioning refrigerator, but was a great take on an Abe Tripel.

Bottle at Mondial de la Bière (Montréal). Dark gold body with a good white foamy head. Aroma and taste are rather hoppy. It carries nice fruity and yeasty notes. Ends with a good bittersweet finish. Well balanced.

12oz bottle from Puzzl. Pours a cloudy brown color with a lighter brown head. Nose is lightly yeasty, some nuts and minimal dark fruits. A hint of doughy bread here and there. Taste is lightly bready, some nuts here and there, a little bit of grape skins and a slight alcohol warmth in the finish.
