Commercial Description:
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

Excellent strong beer. Doesn’t taste as strong as it is. Carbonation a bit low.

Nose is slightly tart, clove and apple. Flavor has a crisp floral finish, with spices up front. Enjoyable, but thin.

Vintage date 5/24/2001: Bright orange/copper in color. Bright, light, white and bubbly head. Slightly musty aroma with some metallic hints as well. Initial pour is rather clean. Flavors of orange, clove and sugar with a metallic-like bitter tingle. Time for a swirl and the yeast pour... oh crap! I may have gone too far here. We now have a color resembling my morning coffee with Half & half. The head has been transformed into sour looking clumps of dairy product. Aroma is still metallic only the yeast has softened things up and imparted some bready notes. Some clove and orange on the taste buds with alot more body. Slightly nutty with some hints of caramel. This isn’t Brugese Tripel but it is still quite tasty.

Pours nice cloudy golden color with a small white head. Very fruity aroma, with hints of nutmeg, and cloves. Wide array of flavors, yeasty initially, followed by the spice and sweet fruit flavors and the alcohol is slightly noticeable at the finish. Full bodied with a dry finish.

From bottle : Pours a hazy amber orange color, with a small short lived fizzy white head. Nose of fruits, bananas, some yeast. Flavor is fruity as well, not as good as other trippel, the aroma wasnt as good either. Also very detectable alcohol content in the flavor. Palate is pretty heavy for this style, kinda weird bittery ending.

Bottled, purchased at the brewery. Pours tawny, with a light tan head. Fruity, alcohol-tinged notes in the aroma. Cloves, yeast, and fruit in the taste, with a warm, alcohol finish. Mouthfeel is firm, but not thick. An excellent Tripel from a fine brewer.

Clear strawberry blond, fluffy collapsing beige head. Aroma - yeast, fruit esters, banana, mango lassi. Flavor - sweet, alcoholic center, peach. Moderately effervescent. A more or less authentic and passable belgian tripel, but I’m not so big on the style these days, and this in particular is too alcoholic and sweet for my tastes. 6 3 6 3 12 3.0
