COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong, full-bodied Belgian Abbey-style beer. The traditional yeast strain that is used imparts a rich array of spicy and fruit-like flavors. The prominent clove and melon notes are complemented by the sweetness and alcoholic warmth of the beer. The appealing color of glowing orange makes this brew irresistible.

Pours a hazy with a thin cream colored head and nice small carbonation. Smells quite yeasty with a background of bananas. Quite smooth and thick with a warming finish with slight malt notes.

[011-20060827] 355mL. Light citrus and bready wafts, alcohol too. Golden-retriever-brown body, big bubbles, small head gone quickly. Spicy flavours, maybe nutmeg, with a lasting finish and a nice aftertaste. Tangy, boozy palate.

This brew poured a medium sized head of finely sized mostly lasting off-white bubbles that left behind a good lacing and a light orange brown colored uncarbonated body. Its mouthfeel is smooth and slightly tingly and it has a mild floral aroma. The flavor is off the mark and did not in the least remind me of a true Belgian Tripel as the label touted.

Layered hazy orange yellow color/ white head. First whiff is barnyard dung and cheese, then tart pit fruits with candi sugar. medium body. Flavor starts with sweet honey biscuit malts and candi sugar, with earthy yeast, pale pit fruits. Spicy bitter alcohol twang to finish.

On tap at Ortino’s Northside. Pours a hazy orange amber with a small white head. Standard tripel aroma of banana, some citrus and spice. Palate is a bit thick with an alcohol burn at the end. Flavor of alcohol up front with a floral, citrus and spice in the taste. A nice feel and taste overall. Could not have a bunch of these due to the "thicker" feel but still a solid tripel.

Bottle pours a cloudy dirty butterscotch, medium foamy off-white head, with spotty lacing.   Heavy bready aroma, some cloves and spices, as well as subtle notes of alcohol.   Heavy light fruit (apples/pears) and a strong dough like flavor on the tongue.   Body is almost there, but the mouthfeel seems rather thick and viscous.   Finishes very bready, thick, semi-sweet, with lingering clove.   Pretty tasty!   Thanks goes out to TAR for the trade!

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2005 Pours a nice golden blond with a thick, fluffy, white head. The nose is yeast, spice and sweetness from the malt. The taste seems rich with more sweetness than anything coming through. Some spice and yeast make their way into the background. Finish smoothly but also leaves a sticky sweet aftertaste.

Jax Package Store, Sandy Springs, Ga. - 12 oz bottle. Pours a thick, very dark orange with a tight white ring for a head. Sweet aroma, essences of red licorice, alcohol, and bubble gum. Sweet flavor with some candied sugar, sweet cake mix - orange perhaps - whichh was my favorite as a kid, and a touch of yeast. Mouhfeel is pleasantly thick and not too spritzy. VEry goo American take on a Tripel.
