pubscout (26), Perth Amboy, New Jersey, USA Feb 2, 2005 Updated: Mar 28, 2005This baby’s going on my "Must-Have" Christmas list, Groundhog Day List, Super Bowl list, Easter List, Bob Clow Day list, Pistachio Day list, PS2 Medal of Honor and Call of Duty list, etc.
I pour this one in an oversized Karmeliet glass. The nose is nonpareil! Color--gorgeous. Taste--well, I don’t give 20’s for nothing.
Run.
Don’t walk.
Buy it. Drink it. Love it. wingman333 (233), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Apr 28, 2007 Delicious beer...tastes somewhat like the Golden Monkey but with a little more alcohol burn going down...ironic since I think it has less than Golen Monkey, which is probably my favorite. I first tried this at a poolside bar in Florida the summer of 2006, the saw it again in NJ and I liked it even more than I remember. douqep (8), USA does not count Jun 16, 2008 This is the closest US brewers have come to Blegian beer. Instead of making a Belgian-style beer, they went straight for the real thing somehow. Really strong, like some one tipped some whiskey into it, but true flavor to a traditional Belgian triple. Well balanced and satisfying....just don’t drink too many of them in one sitting. DeadGuyFrank (347), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Aug 14, 2007 Updated: Oct 21, 2007Full-bodied and tasty; solid well made addition to the style; vanilla flavored and robust! Very nice. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA Jul 27, 2007 Bottle. This is a beautiful example of a great American brewed triple. The beer pours a dark orange with no head. The aroma has a candy sweetness which is somewhat reflected in the taste along with spices. There is a full flavor and mouthfeel even though the beer itself is not thick. grawk (11), Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 16, 2009 A very good example of a belgian triple in the US. I’d really like it if they came out with an aged variant, or one in a 750ml bottle more suitable for aging. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 18, 2006 Bottle: Nice cloudy orange-rust color with wisps of yeast fluttering about and a cream-foam head. This has a big spicy, yeasty nose. Likewise the flavor of this beer is BIG ... robust warming alcohol-based body with a spicy flourish ... clove, pumpkin. Intense. This is like an "Imperial Tripel" if there were such a thing. Quite delicious. FlemishChar (224), Virginia, USA Feb 2, 2002 Not as much head as I would like, but nonetheless the flavor is wonderful..All you expect from a tripel, fruity aroma and taste, yellow/orange color, full body, spiciness. Very nice. Comparable to La Maudite or Chimay Cinq Cents more than Westmalle.
