Draught @ East Croydon, Belgian Beer Fest. Pitch black, served with a tasty looking, scummy dark brown head. This beer is testament to the fact that looks can be deceiving. Sweet as hell this beer is straight out of the messed up milk stout manual. Not fun at all.

Draught: Black with a short tan head. Medium berry aroma, with some caramel and plums there too. Berries, liquorice, caramalts and choc in the flavour. Medium-full bodied. Very nice belgian styled stout.

Nose of milk chocolate... mmm... Jet black body, with a dense brown head on top. It does however have a very werid fruity flavor to it. Good aroma, bad flavor...

A pitch black beer with a collapsing brown head. The aorma is sour roasted, while the flavor is sweet with notes of licorice and yeast, leading to a dry roasted end.

Bottle. Black colour with a baige head. Sweet vanilla aroma and a sweet vanilla chocolat caramel taste. Medium body and a sweet finish.

Almost black, opague. Some roasted malt and apple in the aroma. Just a bit acidic. Very sweet and sugary, grape sugar. Thin. Hints of roasted malt in the flavor are totally overwhelmed by the sugary sweetness and the traces of acidic sourness. I expected a totally different beer.

Very dark Black-brown color with small intens brown head, falling down very fast. Strange medicinal aroma’s with touches of caramel, liquorice, sweet cookie’s and raisins soaked in rhum. The taste is different of the smell. It is very sweet and caramely. The mouthfeel is smooth, lively, fruity and nicely untherbuild with soft touches of burned malts. It hast an afthertaste of a Babba au Rhum. This beer has an outstanding soft, smooth and well balaced taste, but it has this horrible medicinal smell that makes me think of old ointment.

As all De Bie beers, parked here; but there’s grave doubt as to where the beers are currently brewed. Preposterously huge head, dark brown leaving shards of lace. Nose with liquorice, chocolate, chervil and dark malts. Speculoos (=specific kind of hard Belgian gingerbread), grapejuice, brown sugar, unfermented sweet worts. Tastes a bit like German Kraftmalz. Very creamy; full-bodied MF. As a sweet stout, more than acceptable. For the adepts of Imperial Stouts, however, this is going to be one hell of a letdown.
