3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: Poured black in color with a thick creamy light brown head. Sweet fruit/berry with some malt. Sweet metallic cola like taste with a licorice finish. Not impressive for something marketed as a stout.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
On tap @ Erasmus. Darkest head I’ve ever seen, creamy brown like milk chocolate atop a straight-up black beer. Gorgeous. Too bad it goes downhill from there. Malty, faint sour-cola aroma. Cola sweet and slightly tart, with a lightly malty backdrop. A bit dirty and tangy in the aftertaste. Too thin and wet to be a stout. Nearly quaffable though, if it wasn’t for that tangy, chemical edge. But it’s so pretty! Too bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at the Hotel Erasmus, Brugge. Black color with very dark creamy head. Burnt aroma reminescent of grilled meat. Some fruity and toffeish aroma in the background. Very sweet flavor which hides much of the roastedness. Some sourness and oud bruin -like flavors. A bit sugary. Interesting contrast between sweet and sour flavors and roastedness.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Huge dark brown coarse head shrinks slowly. Opaque black body. Faint spicy licorice aroma. Sweet licorice taste with no real resistance, more like a soft drink. No aftertaste. Sharpish mouthfeel. It’s OK, but kind of boring. No reason to get very excited about this. (0.33l bottle. Bottled November 2005.)

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
A roaste malts taste and to sweet make this bottled beer a less then average beer. Tasted also an older version with same results. Although it was only 3 years old you could tast already that the beer was already older

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate some fruits. Black coloured with a brown, medium head. Taste is way too sweet, bit fruity, roasted malts. For Glouglouburp’s information: They can spell. But you need to follow some courses dutch I guess. In dutch ’stout’ means ’bad’ (More like bad child than bad villain). And yes this is a bad brew. :-) A very bad Bie.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Black with a large creamy brown head. For a stout this one has too much fruit flavours (plums, grapes). Roasted malt with a strong lactic character, almost chocolate-milk. Not sweet. Creamy milk-ish body. If you cannot spell stout, you probably can’t brew it either.

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Brownish fluffy somewhat uneven head. Sweet, light citric and siced aroma. Flavour is very sweet. Has cocoa notes. Fruity, full of sweet b erries and light spiced. Thin bodied. Very sweet in the end. Too sweet for me.

Ouch, over the top beer; too sweet and some dms, too metallic in the end! Doesn’t smell like a stout at all; yeasty and musty. Tastes SWEET....some spices and some fruit. Bit homebrew like. Not so nice. Looks great though!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black beer with a tan head. Light roasted malty aroma with a spicy and fruity note. Quite sweet flavor with a vague roasted malty note and a spicy finish.
