3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very sweet, cidery, wine, sultanine and above all honey (may be acacia) taste.
Light brown foam, dark opaque color, cherries, sultanine, some note of vinegar in the nose.
A very nice disovery for a stout!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
So dark, deep black it doesnít let any light pass through; a dark brown/red head.
Roasted scent with a touch of sour and definitely sweetness as well, really a smell of its own with plenty of character.
The taste is a bit roasted, iron-like with again a bit of sourness. Thereís sugars in there as well, adding to the complex taste. Itís a little weird; not really heavy though a full taste. Itís often labeled as a sweet stout which is probably the most accurate way to describe it. Interesting taste though not for everyone and not something to drink too often either.
The aftertaste is quite smooth but long lasting, could have been a bit stronger, though perhaps thatís too much to ask for seeing that itís only a 5.5% beer.
All in all itís rather sweet, good and really original.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Woohoo, just in time. After the cap is removed I was ready for the upcoming gusher, it poured black and brown an created a black beer with a big brown head that changes slowly into a fluffy big foamy island.
Aromas of metallic, some coffee with milk, (roasted) malts, french fries, grains and some floral tones.
Flavours of sweets like honey and brown sugars, some hints spices like bay leaf and a sprinkle of something clove/cinnamon a like, caramel, some bark, ligt roast, grass, light bitter, some cream and a sweet liquorice tone.
Aftertaste is a mix of sweet liquorice, brown sugars, some sweet roast and grassy grains.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture.
Bit sweet, bit roast, bit stout, decent a would say, fits the style.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
One of the very, very few ínewerí sweet stouts in Belgium, a style once introduced by the English and very popular in especially West-Flanders, but since then all but disappeared. This one shows a thick and dense, deep brownish beige foam, stable, on a very dark ruby beer, almost black, revealing its red skin only under very bright light and only around the edges. Chocolatey and caramelly aroma, candied dates, raisins, grassy hops, brown sugar, pear, cinnamon, faint hint of coffee far away in the background. Sugary and caramelly sweet taste, soft and mellow, somewhat fluffy, estery fruitiness, a bit cloying in the finish with a very low hop bitterishness. Should indeed be evaluated as a sweet stout, which is a very different thing from dry or other stout substyles, and in that style this is one of the best I tasted so far.
