3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Where: De Republiek, Brugge.
Appearance: Dark red colour with a beige head.
Aroma: Caramel, spices, alcohol, malt, dark fruit.
Body: Watery body with rather low carbonation.
Flavour: Caramel, spices, alcohol, dark fruit.
Comment: Starts off good, but falls flat at the end. Would have been much better if it managed to last all the way through the sip, as it is it falls a bit short.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a corked bottle in a Great Lakes tulip glass.
Big pop of cork...pours a dark brown with big amber head.
Aroma of dark malts, alcohol, and malt sweetness.
Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel.
Flavors of dark roasted malts, alcohol, caramel, molasses, dark chocolate, milk chocolate. Overall big and bold with a big alcohol strength coming through over the big malt body. After 10 minutes the alcohol resides a good amount.
