3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle bought at Craftissmo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.
Looks: Cloudy hazy golden honey colour with a ring of yeast sediments; One finger head and crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing with active small carbonation.
Aroma: Fragrant and sweet malt, with vanilla, coriander, light banana, strong caramel, alcohol, cream soda, sugar, light spices, bread, strong Bel yeast, faint lemon and light grass.
Taste: Med to strong sweet rich malt, with strong metallic, caramel, strong citrus peels, potent alcohol, strong brown sugar, strong Bel yeast, strong lemon, fairly strong bitter hops and sharp grass.
Body: Full body. Slick and creamy palate.
Mouth Feel: Wholesome blonde maltyness in a rich background. Good variety of tastes in abundance: caramel, lemon peels, brown sugar, tasty booze and Bel yeasts. Fairly good bitter hops to round. Pretty good!
Hoppiness: Coriander, sugar, light spices, faint lemon and light grass in nose. Strong lemon and peels, and sharp grass to taste. Bitterness is moderately strong for an abrupt, mid-to-high astringent sweet bitter finish.
After Taste: Fairly dry. Creamy, sweet and fairly bitter mouth.
Comments: It has good looks, nice lacing and big strong solid taste. The aroma is not the usual banana fruity ester, and also rather underwhelming, plus the hoppiness is not strong enough. Still, very enjoyable as an above average Tripel.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear light amber body. Big white foam. Aroma is complex, fruits, caramel and honey. Flavour is as complex. Lots a sweet fruits, dried fruits, I'm getting some orange peel. The alcohol can be felt in the background. Long sweet finish. End up lightly dry.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The beer pours a thick layer of rough white foam. The foam looks like a fast coal song foam, but surprisingly a thick layer of foam stays on top of the beer. The foam is quite soft and is very bitter and has some metal tastes. The beer has a golden yellow color and is a little cloudy. The beer looks very nice. The smell is sweet. I smell almonds. The sweet almond aroma is delicious. It also had a little bitterness, as if the almonds were roasted. There is also a tiny little aroma that reminds of pepper, although this aroma is really really mild. The taste consists mostly of almond. Bitter sweet with a sweetness that out strengthens the bitterness. The taste is what you expect from a triple: bitterness and sweetness present, interesting and plenty tastes, it is all there. The beer has quite a high alcohol percentage. The alcohol tingles the tongue, together with the gas bubbles. The remaining palate is soft and gentle. A real good beer it is.

A classic and refined Tripel. Subtle sweetness and a well integrated hop bitterness. Love the subtle hint of orange peel.
