3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hansen (5449) - Assentoft, DENMARK - DEC 11, 2009
Orange coloured and unclear. Has a white head, medium lasting. Hoppy aroma, metallic notes. Flavor starts heavy bitter, with a iron-note. Light sweetness. Real nice. Dry texture.

Bottle given to me by Ian at Toronado. Pours a hazy golden amber with white head. Aroma of yeast, banana, dusty malts, and some spice. Flavor is grainy maltiness, artificial banana flavored candy, tangy citrus, and spice. A rather "sharp" flavor for a tripel. Finish is dry with some hop presence. Pretty good, especially since it was free.

Pours golden with a small white head. Aromas of belgiun yeast and bananas. Spicy banana flavor. A little light on the palate. Pretty decent overall.

Tap, 33cl. A beautiful amber coloured beer with a medium white creamy lacing head that lasts. Malty aroma, with some hops and sweetness included. Strong malty taste, light sweet beer, grassy finish of hops. A quite pleasant beer to drink, although certainly not the best of tripels you can find.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 crowderm (367) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 3, 2009
Solid golden pour. Aroma is wheat, and spice - kind of peppery, and not necessarily in a positive way. Flavor is similar. There is a little bit of fruit in there, but not much. The finish is a little bit harsh. Not as easy drinking as say, Karmeliet. Not bad though.

Straffe Hendrik Bruges Triple Ale 10/30/09 (bomber. Got to admit, this bottle looks handsome: a Belgian-style corked finish bomber, with a deep forest green label. Pours perfectly gold, medium in carbonation. Aroma is grainy, with strong yeast notes and some like herbal hops. Flavor is hay, grain, light fruit, and spices. Balance is ok, finish is a bit sharp and spicy, but not out of style for a Triple. Overall, this is not a poorly crafted Triple – I would even venture to say it reminded me of a cross between Duvel and Westmalle Triple. That said, I didn’t find a whole lot in this beer to write home about.

Draught at the U.S. launch dinner at Belga Cafe with brewer Xavier Vanneste and the Belgian ambassador to the U.S. Deep dark golden color, clear, with large white head, good staying power and excellent lacing. Aroma of malt and black pepper. Large malt taste, some notes of citrus and a slightly bitter finish. More full bodied than most tripels.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Lyncham (251) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 23, 2009
Not a bad blonde tripple. This beer is better than the Zot brewed by Halve Maan. It has a nice citrus nose with spice and maybe honey (but may just a sweetness in the malt). The beer has a good hop finish. Not bad for a blonde (not my favorite style)
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 joergen (17353) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 6, 2009
Bottle at home.
Clear amber coloured with a huge off white head.
Sweet aroma of honey, spices, caramel and citrus peel with notes of yeast.
Flavour of caramel, spices, yeast and orange peel with notes of hops, alcohol metal.
Hoppy and spicy finish.
A bit perfumed.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Straling (295) - Hoensbroek, NETHERLANDS - OCT 1, 2009
Bottle 33cl.
Pours a clear orange colour with a good size lasting head and good carbonation.
Aroma is very strong of oranges and a few other fruits, but the orange is very much there. It is however a nice orange smell, not too overpowering, but powerfull nonetheless.
Taste also has the oranges there but also some spices and malts there too, good flavour.
