4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11.2 ounce bottle - $4.29 at Hop City in Atlanta, Georgia. Though that area of the label is a bit tattered, it seems I’m in well ahead of the Best Before date of 2012.
Appearance: Pours out a hazy, deep golden-hued body with a ½ inch of lasting, foam-like, white head.
Smell: Sweet-scented bouquet of unprocessed honey with a light pils malt quality tucked within. Touches of semi-ripe peach fruitiness with just a bit of fresh orange zest. Secondary notes smelling of flowers and spice.
Taste: A taste of honey-basted pilsner maltiness blended with some additional candi sugar sweetness and liberally garnished with fresh flower petals. Fruity accents suggesting white peaches and citrus. Touch of coriander-like phenolic spiciness furthered by the modest hop character and alcohol. Experiencing some slight, satisfying warmth on the softly drying, mildly spicy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-high carbonation. Nicely creamy mouthfeel overall.
Drinkability: A tasty brew that drinks remarkably easy despite its supposed 9% ABV. All in all, it’s a very delightful, heck, even picturesque example of a tripel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice to see here in the US, didn’t ever see this when we were in Belgium. Maybe they weren’t brewing the tripel back then? In any case, deep gold, clear, nice slight pillow head. Aroma of bubblegum and banana, sweet malts. Flavor matched, lots of banana ester at first, as it warmed, honey sweetness became more pronounced. Very nice tripel, wish it was just a touch drier.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at the 2010 Crescent Moon Extreme Beer Festival. Pours a dark gold with a thin white head. Subtle aroma of honeysuckle and juicyfruit gum. This seems like a fairly solid routine tripel. Very good and very drinkale.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Sediment laden golden pour with a tall, fluffy white head. Aroma is dried fruit, light flowery notes, soft perfume, Belgian yeast, sweet malt and candi sugar. Taste is sweet malt, fresh fruit, flowers, dusty yeast, candi sugar and spicy notes. Body is light-medium and rather bubbly. Slight warmth. Lingering spices, fruit, fresh cut flowers, yeast notes, light earth and hops round this out. Very tasty!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL corked and caged "Bruges Triple Ale 9" bottle from 2009. A slightly hazy amber pour with a bunch of little floaties and a big and fluffy light-tan head. A sweet aroma of bananas, bubblegum, spices, a touch of roasted caramel, and lemons in the background. Medium body. Becomes kinda creamy as it warms. Goes down quite sweet with a good deal of candied sugar, caramel, and bananas upfront. There is the slightest roastiness that makes this tripel unlike many others I’ve had. A spicy yeastiness in the middle. Finishes with some drying lemons. The 9% ABV is very well-hidden.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Really bready aromas and flavors. Light on the palate with slight astringency. The lemon and hopcit are slight, but present throughout, and the beer has a long, pleasant finish as a result. Yeast is the dominant component here and, while I wish the alcohol had been backed down a notch, this is a nice sipper of a tripel.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark blond beer, almost no head (I served it maybe too cold ). Strong aroma of coriander. Also in tasting it’s hoppy and with coriander. A bit of bitter finsh, it’s an OK beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Poured a dak amber with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt, banana, yeast and fruit. An ok, but bland aroma and flavor. Sweet malt and banana; slightly sweet.
