4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. 25.4 oz. Split with and courtesy of Vin. Pours a peachy amber with a creamy, rich, white head that leaves a solid ring around the edge of the glass. Aroma of grapes, figs, honey, lemon, tangerine, roasted barley, and soft floral notes. Medium bodied with a well rounded, tart, ripe-fruity, crisp palate. Finishes with a slight bit of booze and tons of pears. Great tripel. Interesting.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Serving: Draft at the 2010 Fall Brewfest.
Aroma: The nose is sweet with malt leaving a bit of breadiness, some hop spice, a little bubble gum, and a distinct Belgian yeast note.
Appearance: It pours a nice amber color with a dense, foamy head. Good head retention.
Taste: It mirrors the nose with the malt and yeast taking center stage. It’s a tad sweet for my taste, but there is some spicy hop prescience. A fruity character evolves as the beer warms.
Palate: Medium bodied with high carbonation leading to a sweet finish.
Overall: It’s a bit straight forward and sweet, but still enjoyable. Nothing to go out of your way for though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml cork & caged bottle -
With the half moon face on the bottle, it kept getting my attention each time I’d walk down the BevMo aisles. Pretty enjoyable beer but at $10.99 a bottle, a little steep for a repeat beer. Aroma as some light dried fruit notes, yeasty/toasted bread notes with a strong honey note. A really nice hazy golden yellow body, thick 3" white foamy cap. The alcohol is nicely hidden under a unexpected herbal/honey tea flavor. Peppery, citrusy and light vanilla also are noted. Really a nice beer, just bit high in price.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
2009 Cork Date; Sampled October 2010
A solid pour into my 25cl tulip glass produces a three finger thick, light tan colored head. The beer is a bright amber color that shows an absolutely brilliantly clear, almost metallic, deeply red stained, copper hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of dried hay, sweet pale malt, some light spiciness, a fruitiness that reminds me of pears and apples and a cotton candy note that can be quite noticeable up front as well as some definite bubble-gum notes. A deep, long draught of the aroma sees the pear-like fruitiness really becoming quite noticeable in the finish, though it reminds me more of a perry than of fresh pears. As the beer warms a nose warming alcohol note starts to become quite noticeable.
Fairly sweet tasting, but there is a prickly carbonation that manages to offset this a bit as the beer rolls across the tongue, but the finish sees a cotton-candy and bubble gum sweetness become quite cloying and dominant. Some spicy clove notes linger quite a bit on the palate as well with a light tongue numbing. There are some fruity flavors of pear, but they definitely struggle to be noticed underneath the cloying notes mentioned earlier. A touch of ginger and perhaps a hint of pepper can’t nearly help to mitigate the sweetness, but are slightly noticeable in the flavor.
Way to sweet of a beer, it really gets quite cloying and isn’t something I want to finish a glass of. The aroma on this beer wasn’t actually half bad and had me hoping that this was going to be a decent beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 9, 2010 11.2oz bottle - BBD code: b/D/12. Poured a clear copper with particles - head was a medium off-white, thin layer stays to the end. Aroma: strong yeast up front, notes of ripe fruit, malt, alcohol, spice, notes of banana. Taste was the same but with a touch more alcohol. The yeast is very much like that used for Gouden Carolus Tripel (but with less spice). Medium body. Finish was ok with a mild bite of bitterness. Overall: good/average.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Yellow in color with a two-finger white head. Citrus, lemon, and spicy yeast aroma. Kind of a dry flavor. I like my tripels sweeter but this is still tasty. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Bit too light for me.

Pour is a copper with tons of floaties, wow this is the most I have ever seen in a single beer, and a huge white head. Aroma is sweet with some apple and yeast. Flavor is citrus and vanilla with some alcohol at the end. Decent triple with a ton of floaties.
