0.33L bottle. Pours clear copper with a frothy white head and good lacing. Really nice malt aromas: bubblegum, toffee and fig. Medium sweet at the beginning with bready and bubblegum flavors. Follows with lots of bitterness to balance off the malt: herby and citrus hops. Medium-full body with a thick mouthfeel and active carbonation. Overall, very nice, rich malt character balanced well with bitter. One of the best tripels!

The color is a cloudy orange that is almost amber due to the gold in it as well, and there is a large white head sitting atop the liquid. The aroma has a strong Belgian yeast with a definite malt backbone (comprised of a hint of caramel to it) and some banana hints as well. The taste is a an interesting mix of a slight sourness, slight umami, and touch of sweetness, but the aftertaste isn’s so strong, simply being a light Belgian yeast flavor. The palate has a medium body, thick texture, and an average carbonation.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2014 330ml bottle served in a Chimay chalice. A: Pours a dark orange color which is quite dark and clear to a Tripel. Beautiful, anyway. Forms a huge white to yellow colored head with great retention and a lot of lacings left around S: Caramel malts backbone with strong notes of dark fruits, toffee and candy sugar. Quite sweet indeed. Quite bready too with strong notes of Belgian yeasts. Mild notes of flowery hops. A bit of alcohol in the very end. Less spiced than a classic Tripel but excellent anyway T: Follows the nose. Very malty and bready beer. Notes of dark fruits, mainly plums and raisins. Toffee, candy and caramel malts. Upfront is sweet and end is considerable bitterness which is slightly citrus. Well balanced M: Heavy creamy molasses body. Good carbonation and the classic Belgian bittersweet aftertaste O: Very drinkable. An excellent Belgian Tripel specimens with strong personality [ BA Review @ 10/9/2012 ]

poured @ about 12deg C. High thick head, small consistent cell. stays well, uniform structure on the wall, horizontal tear. Great polished fresh copper look, transparent with stationary particles. Nose is zero yeast, freshly rinsed vegetabels, hops, sand. brown paper, melilotus, catnip, fresh, slightly overripe yellow plums. Bottle bought from the brewery in Bruges. A nicely spiced tripel beer, not too spicy but good flavours and very drinkable at 9%. Recommend giving this a try
