Sampler from bottle, Glunz Beer Expo, April 2010. Bitter smell, even a little whiff of chile pepper. A nice, light Belgian tripel color, clear yellow with a little foam. Not as bitter in the mouth as the nose, but more to the tripel style. Lots of Belgian sugar to it, some European hops can be distinguished. Goes down nicely, a bit of warming alcohol.

Would expect more, but still decent tripel.. Mostly malty, some caramel light fruitiness, bit dried fruits, bit overripe fruits, some yeast. Moderate sweetness with light tartness and light bitterness. .Decent, but nothing too fancy

330 ml bottle bought at Craftissmo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden honey colour with a ring of yeast sediments; One finger head and crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing with active small carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant and sweet malt, with vanilla, coriander, light banana, strong caramel, alcohol, cream soda, sugar, light spices, bread, strong Bel yeast, faint lemon and light grass.

Taste: Med to strong sweet rich malt, with strong metallic, caramel, strong citrus peels, potent alcohol, strong brown sugar, strong Bel yeast, strong lemon, fairly strong bitter hops and sharp grass.

Body: Full body. Slick and creamy palate.

Mouth Feel: Wholesome blonde maltyness in a rich background. Good variety of tastes in abundance: caramel, lemon peels, brown sugar, tasty booze and Bel yeasts. Fairly good bitter hops to round. Pretty good!

Hoppiness: Coriander, sugar, light spices, faint lemon and light grass in nose. Strong lemon and peels, and sharp grass to taste. Bitterness is moderately strong for an abrupt, mid-to-high astringent sweet bitter finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Creamy, sweet and fairly bitter mouth.

Comments: It has good looks, nice lacing and big strong solid taste. The aroma is not the usual banana fruity ester, and also rather underwhelming, plus the hoppiness is not strong enough. Still, very enjoyable as an above average Tripel.

Clear light amber body. Big white foam. Aroma is complex, fruits, caramel and honey. Flavour is as complex. Lots a sweet fruits, dried fruits, I'm getting some orange peel. The alcohol can be felt in the background. Long sweet finish. End up lightly dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
