Dark Planet is a rich, earthy, English style ale that checks in at 9% ABV. Deceptively smooth and complex with hints of caramel, molasses, and dark fruit, a great beer for the fall season.

Pours a dark, bourbon-molasses brown with a creamy khaki cap. Horehound and chocolate nose. Thick, sticky mouthfeel. Sweet chocolate, fruit, horehound, molasses, with herbal bitterness at the finish. Still, the heavy sweetness persists.

Bottle. Poured brown with a creamy tan head that settled to a ring and left light lace. Aroma of toffee, and dark fruits. The flavor found an initial chocolate that turned to molasses and dark fruits. Medium body and sweet.

Panama City Beach, Chan’s Wine World - 22 oz bomber. Deep dark chestnut brown pour, thin but persistent khaki colored head. Aroma has some sweet chewing tobacco accents, a touch of molasses. Flavor is rib sticking with some molasses, hints of caramel, a touch of chocolate, some sweet tobacco notes and just a touch of baked brown bread. Mouthfeel has a nice belly warming thickness to it. Pretty solid.

Pours a dark brown with vanilla head. Malty aroma with toffee and toasted corn. Flavor follows, with a lot more flavor as it warms.

Bomber. Poured ruby brown with a medium-sized, dense, tan head. Aroma and flavor were intensely malty, caramel, molasses, some roasted malt, lots of fruit (raisin, prune, some cherry), very light banana and yeast. Very sweet and rather unbalanced. Very nice in a small glass as a dessert drink but more than that and it really needs some more bitterness for balance. Thick mouthfeel.
