COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The bigger, badder brother to our flagship Monkeynaut IPA, this beer definitely shoots for the moon. A supernova of citrusy hop aroma and flavor up front and a sweet malty backbone make this an aggressive yet well-balanced beer. It finishes with a smooth, lingering hop bitterness. If youíve ever wondered what an 800-lb. gorilla in a spacesuit drinks, well, the answer is Tang, of course ... but when heís back on Earth and in the mood for a big beer, he reaches for this.

From a bottle. Pours almost clear copper with a fizzy bubbly beige head. Tastes like strong grapefruit, pine, caramel, bready malt, light nuttiness. Medium body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like caramel, grapefruit, pine, and nutty malt.

Amber color with a thin lacing of white head. Aroma is hoppy, and a little doughy on the nose. Flavor is strong, somewhat astringent hops up front. It manages to be fairly balanced at the end with caramel malt, but the aftertaste is more astringent bitterness. Notes of pine throughout. I enjoyed it, but itís going to be a bit much if you donít like this style of astringent IIPA.

Bottle courtesy of my friend Noel. Amber bodied with a short tan head. Aroma is strong caramel and floral hops with citrus notes and sweet malt. Very resinous as it warms. Taste is also sweet malt and caramel with resinous hops, floral hops, citrus fruit and pine. Body is medium-full and chewy with a dense bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more resinous hops, caramel, sweet malt, toasted malt and floral hops. Very big and tasty!

Bomber poured into a vintage pineapple glass -- Cloudy straw/golden color with persistent thick white head. Aroma lends itself to bitterness over late hop additions. Flavor is similar, very nice malt base with a powerful hop bitterness.

Pours an appetizing clear amber with a thick and frothy pale buff head. Strong aroma is very hoppy and evergreen with citrus and apple hints. Bold flavor is gorilla-strong, very hoppy, woody and piny, rather bitter; fruity hints peep through. Texture is not particularly thick, but very lively, leaving a fizzy evergreen finish. This gorilla will "naut" disappoint.
