Growler. Poured amber with an off-white head. Malty aroma. The flavor found caramel, rye, and light hop background. Medium body with a rye hop aftertaste.

BITTER, but thatís what I expected from a pale ale with rye. On draft at the tap room and Iím assuming this is the correct name for it (itís the only Rye listed). It was moderately hopped but for once possibly ever it could have used a little sweetness to offset the punch. Great beer to try, not sure Iíd put it on my list of favorites.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2013 Draft in the tap room (8/25/12). Poured pale amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma was moderately hoppy (pine and citrus) with a nice maltiness and a touch of rye. Flavor was all of that, but it was ruined by a pronounced soapiness -- possibly a fermentation problem?
Rerating (3/30/13): draft at Slice. Aroma and flavor as before, but the soapiness is gone. Nicely balanced beer.

4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Little to no aroma. Appearance is perfect with a lasting head. Taste has a nice rye flavor. an amazing amount of rye since rye is hard to pull off. Balance is not with hops but rye. Yeast comes out very clear. The best standard taste beer Straight to ale has. But an increase rye balance. Very impressive. Nice sweetness very good beer.
