COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lily Flagg Milk Stout is named for Huntsville’s most famous quadruped. A prize cow owned by local plantation owner Samuel B. Moore, Lily Flagg was honored as one of the world’s best butterfat producers in 1892 at an exposition in Chicago. This dark, rich beer contains tons of roasted malt goodness, hints of chocolate and coffee and a creamy mouth feel from the addition of milk sugars during the brewing process.

Nice coffee atoms with a hint of caramel that continues with the initial taste. It finishes with a light almost semi sweet taste. A nice lighter stout. I would like to get up to Huntsville and enjoy one straight from Straight to Ale. [rim shot]

Pours a rich coffee brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma has notes of coffee and molasses. Flavor starts with caramel and adds waxy semi-sweet chocolate and molasses notes, plus a hint of coffee. Texture is dusty and fairly firm. Go straight to Ale and enjoy one!

Stygian black with deep chocolate top. Oaky roasty nose, but rather feint. The body has a fullness to it with a definite milk powder quality that renders an artificial flavor on the palate. Chocolate and cinnamon finish.

Draught at the Straight to Ale Taproom, Huntsville, AL. Dark brown almost black colour with a red hue and tiny tan head. Roasted malt, lots of coffee and some ashy dryness in the aroma. The flavour is dry roasted malt, some berries, ashy dryness and coffee. Very dry. Too much coffee for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
