3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
7/26/13. Drank from a hotel cup around Bill’s wedding. Can’t believe I’m rating this after a living RateBeer legend. This can isn’t Yellow Bus but goddamn. Light caramel and resin/pine on the aroma. Caramel, pine, and metal on the flavor. Old maybe? Not great.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Canned 3/15/13. Consumed 7/10/13. Pours a light red with a dense and resilient off-white head. Aroma is sharp and active; pine, citrus, floral, vanilla, caramel; powerful, nice. Taste is excellent; juicy, bitter, pine, citrus, floral, yeast, bread; finish is long, bitter citrus peel. Excellent. Medium-high carbonation. Chewy mouth feel. Beautiful lacing. 7.25% ABV not apparent. This is a great beer. Reminds me of a light and hoppy barleywine. For being four months pasting canning date, this held up well. Well-crafted.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber colored pour. Big white head that falls a little bit quickly. Plenty of lacing. A slight burnt malt aroma with some citrus notes and caramel. Taste is a malt and hop combo. Slightly bitter underneath the nice malt sweetness. Pretty tasty.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is a phenomenal beer or maybe just right in my wheelhouse. The hops are huge, packing a tremendous amount of flavor. The malt is tuned to provide maximum depth, reigning in bitterness slightly without competing with hop flavor. Gravity is also tuned to facilitate the most lush expression. There is a lot going on in the finish as well. This is where sappy evergreen goodness says hello while malt sweetness surfaces. This beer is in 4D.
