Albert. Able. Gordo. Miss Baker. Bonny. Goliath. Between 1948 and 1961 these primate pioneers and others bravely went where no man had ever gone before, paving the way for manned U.S. spaceflight. This hoppy little monkey of a beer is a tribute to those Simian heroes of yesteryear. It has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, a strong malt body and a crisp finish.

This is my second time trying this brew, but the first time I remembered to take notes. Pours a darker shade of amber than expected. Scent is grassy with a touch of citrus. The beer starts bitter and earthy and finishes sweet. Perhaps a touch to earthy. Mouthfeel was very enjoyable. Can - Kwiker Liquors - Panama City Beach, FL

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2013 A beautiful, deep bronze/copper color that is crystal clear, with a medium head and full lacing from start to finish. It has a pronounced citrus and pine aroma, and a full flavor with a finish that has medium bitterness.

Canned 3/15/13. Consumed 7/10/13. Pours a light red with a dense and resilient off-white head. Aroma is sharp and active; pine, citrus, floral, vanilla, caramel; powerful, nice. Taste is excellent; juicy, bitter, pine, citrus, floral, yeast, bread; finish is long, bitter citrus peel. Excellent. Medium-high carbonation. Chewy mouth feel. Beautiful lacing. 7.25% ABV not apparent. This is a great beer. Reminds me of a light and hoppy barleywine. For being four months pasting canning date, this held up well. Well-crafted.
