Righ to Brew Series
An American Strong Ale/Barleywine with a huge dose of wheat, Vernís is sweet, potent, and full-bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Notes of caramel, molasses and dark cherries abound in this lightly spicy and complex beer.

Poured a caramel amber color with aromas of light yeast, cherries, malt, dark fruit, booze and some light earth. Flavors follow suit with some bozziness and spicy yeast on the back end. Solid overall.

Sweet with flavors of caramel, cherries, and slight bramble. Smooth and malty with some fruity esters dominating the palette.

650 ml. Lightly foggy, cherry-copper color with a small lasting film of creamy bubbles. Aroma is cherry, raisin, honey and touches of mustard and smoked meat. Taste is cherry, raisin, plum, bubblegum, prickly green herb, red wine and a hint of char. Medium-heavy body leans sweet, but the roast and smoky cherry provide a nice balance. Smooth, medium carbonation and well hidden abv. This was a pleasant surprise.

Bottle. Poured amber with an off-white head that settled to a ring. Aromas of malt and brown sugar with a backing of wheat and alcohol. The flavor found wheat and sweet malts. Full body, sweet, and warming.

Bottle from Piggly Wiggly Homewood. Pours brown with very little head and not much carbonation. Slight maltiness on the nose. It does hide its alcohol well. Pretty malty on the tongue. Doesnít have a ton of complexity.

Not exactly my favorite style, but enjoyed this nonetheless. Slightly sweer, but not overdone. Slightly boozy, but well balanced. Overall, nice brew.

Decent beer that starts out ok, gets really good and just crashes on the finish. Initial taste is alright but it firms up well on the mid palate. The finish is just off though. Tasted earthy and weird with alcohol at the end. Could see myself liking this, but was a miss as a group last night. Did not go over very well at all.

Bottle. Vinous malt, earthy herbal, and alcohol aroma. Viscous hazy amber with a minimal ivory head. Sticky sweet caramel malt, earthy, fruity, sweet orange hops, and big boozy flavor. Full sticky body. The whole thing is just a little too cloyingly sweet for my taste.

Bomber from Earth Fare Huntsville. Nice carmel nutty aroma. Sweetness. Appearance is thick as it boors. Light head ring around the pour... Taste is alchol with a bit of nuttiness. Very easy on the palate. Not as spicey as many wheat wines. But still somewhat spicey. Worth trying again. A very nice beer.
