Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark copper with a slight yellow/beige head. Aroma of toasted malt and fruity hop. Full bodied. Frothy carb. Flavor is pine/citrus/earth with a roast malt backdrop. This is a very nicely done ale.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2016 Supporting the local community. Quite dark amber color with heavy pine scents which move right into the flavor. Not much variation beyond that. Too heavy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Pours amber gold with a white head. Fruity hops, mild-moderate bitterness, some light sweet toffee malts, mild husky notes, and a bit of a floral hop side that comes through in the finish. Fine.

Aroma is floral and malty. Flavor is a little sweet, malty and some hopps. Fishes dry, bitter and hoppy. Pours dark copper with a super thick tan head. Got as part of a trade

Bottle shared at the end of an epic boozing session, thanks Neil. Fresh grapefruit character, juicy mouthfeel, caramel malt, green citrus peel, dry hoppy finish. Pretty good stuff as far as my exhausted palate remembers.

Thanks for sharing Neil! Pineapple and grapefruit on the nose with some orange zest as well. Biscuity malts, but not heavy in anyway. Very drinkable with good piney bitterness. Almost like a hoppy red ale. Bitter finish. Tasty.

Pours two fingers of head on a clear dark straw to red body. The aroma is dark fruits. The taste is malty sweet balanced with some pine and grapefruit bitter. Tends malty. The texture is softer. Really enjoyable.

Rating #1615 - 01.05.2015 - Bottle from San Diego. Clear golden amber pour with a decent white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with floral hoppy overtones, grapefruit, citrusy, piney, caramel malt. Taste is more of the same, dry piney hops and caramel malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious.

7.1%ABV. IPA. Tapped out a deep amber, almost brown. 18ºSRM Nose is floral with lavender, orchids, nutmeg and a little wee bit spicy! Mouthfeel is soapy. Dark malt flavors of toffee, caramel, again with a the spicy nutmeg, hint , very very subtle hint of cinnamon, cloves maybe with some nice broad nutty flavor notes of toasted cashews. There are some nice black bread and even pumpernickel flavors. Hops are resinous, pine and hyssop bitter for a long slow finish to a very very satisfying end. You need something fatty and salty to cut this....wagyu beef kushiyaki. Goes on Favorites List!
