Tasted this at the Strands, Nether Wasdale on the 1st September 2014. Cask, handpump dispense. Dark mahogany in colour with a thin off white creamy head. Sweet malt present with a hint of chocolate in the short aroma. Thin but silky mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark complex malts deliver a moist maltloaf base with fresh fig fruit and dark chocolate so smooth in the mouth. There is a short earthy hop prickle in the aftertaste but this is very short lived. Smooth malty finish with sweet chocolate fudge notes coming through in the palate. A cracking stout, but reminded me more of a Chocolate Porter in style really. Not as good as T’ errmmm-inator though!

Pigs Ear. The Long Good Friday teamed up with ChrisO. Cloudy brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Light dry palate. Slightly sweet dry malt. Unusual estery pear dominates. Apples. Dry finish. No galaxy chocolate here just a green and wrong beer.
