3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pint at the brewery. Looks very IPA like: orange, tall head. Grapefruit is apparent in the nose, but not out of hand. It could almost pass for hops, but had that fresh fruit quality to it. The palate is medium and works well. Hops don’t full develop, but add plenty of bite. They meld very well with the grapefruit flavor. The finish is drying, but also a little sugary in natural way. Definitely solid.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Taster. Pours a medium, well retained, white head, over a hazy, dark gold (SRM 6) body......nose is grapefruit, lime, light malt cereal, balance to the hops.....taste is slightly sweet with light cereal, heavy grapefruit notes, light lime, leading to a strong citrus bitter finish.....mouth feel, medium body, slightly sticky, minimal alcohol, light tingle from carbonation. The goal of the brewer was a heavy citrus toned IPA. This goal has been achieved, at the low cost of a slightly unbalanced IPA with the hops in absolute ascendancy. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

Tap at brewpub
pours bright orange with a small soapy white head and sparse lacing. This has a huge grapefruit presence. Very nice hoppy g rapefruity flavors not much balance but thisbis a beer for that. Long hoppy bitter rind grapefruit finish. Very nice!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy orange with a thin and sticky white head. Aroma of grapefruit zest and grassy hop tones. The flavor has a nice sweet juiciness with grapefruit zest and rind bitterness, and a dry citric hop resin and mild bitterness. Semi-dry overall.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From a shared growler at trivia. Thanks Beert. It was fairly dark at the backyard event so I couldn’t really see it. My concern was an overpowering grapefruit bomb but this was far from that. It was quite modest in that regard and served to enhance the citrus hops nicely. This had a fairly big yeast profile with rich malts and bread.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap - lightly hazy straw color - flavor and aroma are actually solid, with the citra hops and lean malt sweetness working well together, but the grapefruit, rather than adding to this, kind of gets in the way - would like to try this without the fruit.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Strange poured a hazy orange amber with a small lasting ivory head. Aromas of bread, grapefruit, orange zest and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, light orange zest and a hint of pine with a smooth dry bitter lingering grapefruit finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap @ Colorado Plus. Pours a hazy orange appearance with a cream colored head. Earthy, herbal, grapefruity hoppy, a bit dusty, toasted aroma. Chewy grapefruity, lemon pie, fairly bitter, bready flavor. Alright.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Cloudy / muddy brown body with a short tan colored head. Pine resin, orange oil, wet wood and tea leaf Cascade / Centennial-like aroma (just a guess) with considerable yeast to mute and drown out any hop distinction. Creamy body with mostly soft malt, medium to light body, a little flimsy and peaked in the finish. Bitter, medium sweetness, medium to low acid. Not the cleanest presentation but the flavor balance seems nice and the aroma has no glaring off-notes. The addition of grapefruit is lost on me, I don’t pick up any actual fruit character, only a generic citrus fruit hop flavor and aroma. So I appreciate that the fruit doesn’t dominate, but scratch my head at what, exactly, it adds to the beer that’s not already provided by high AA hops.
