3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Strange - this is an altbier, not an amber - and a pretty decent one, at that - it pulls off that all-important (and oh so difficult) alt combination of rich maltiness that is somehow also dry and crisp - the only thing this needs is a noble hop bite - sadly, they used american hops in this, and while they taste nice, they really donít fit the style - props for pulling off the malt profile, though.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On trap at Strange poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, light fruittiness and light tobacco. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, tobacco, earthiness and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering earthy finish.
