COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We named this Strange Brew Cherry Kriek because that’s what it is. There’s so much cherry in this beer even its foamy head is red! We start with a Dark Belgian Wheat recipe, cram it full of Montmorency Tart Cherry goodness, then age it with oak. The result is a cherry cherry lovers dream come true. Goes great with dark chocolate, with fudge brownies, with chocolate gateau, with cacao nibs, with... well you get the picture. And did we mention cherries?

at yespr, hazy red, smooth huge creamy pink head. cherries, cherry bitterness in the aroma. flavor is cherries, plastic, bitterness, not as sourish as i had hoped, but then it’s not lambic based so that’s no surprise.

Bottled. A hazy red beer with a huge tan head. The aroma has notes of cherries and brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries, and brettanomyces, leading to a tart finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a warm red with a slight haze and a huge and frothy pink and lacing head with good retention - slightly gushing. Sweet and tart cherry aroma. Medium body, thick cherry flavours - essence? - and yet a tart edge. Enjoyable. 140113

Sampled on 10/13/2012 at GABF. This fruit beer pours a medium to dark red color from the tap. Medium to large sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, cherry and tart, with a hint of wood. A medium bodied fruit beer. The malts are fruity and sweet, with some tart cherry flavors. The hops are herbal. Decent carbonation. Nice tart cherry flavors, with a touch of tartness/sourness at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.

On tap at Rackhouse Pub, figures I might as well give it a shot. Bright pink-red color, looks good to me. Aroma is slight cherries and some bread/grains, average. Flavor was pretty boring, sure it had a decent cherry flavor but that was about it with a little bit of grain at the back. Honestly if you are going to call your beer a kriek I am going to judge it as such and this was a poor kriek. They also get no points for the name since bull and bush already has cheery cherry kriek (which also sucks) and its obivously a lame play on the name of the actual cherry creek since the word kriek already implies cherries. I am getting big pie spice notes. Loads of cherry too. It is a bit too sweet and could do with some tartness but it still works as fruit beer for me.

Sampled at GABF. Cherry pie in the taste. But overall too syrupy for me. Didn’t care much for it.

On draught at brewpub. Nice even tart sweet flavor balance. Deep pink color. Okay.
