Light orange, white head. Grassy hops, malty, plastic notes, bready flavors. Ok DIPA.

At Avery Strong Ale Fest 2013--slightly hazy orange/copper with a thin unstable white head. Nose was weird, like a load of cereal malts with some cranberries and a little lemon juice. Flavor was pretty citrusy, with some orange and grapefruit notes mixing with boozy cereal grains and a little earthiness to it all.

Tap @ Boulder Strong Ale Fest 2013. Pours a burnt orange appearance with a cream colored head. Some fruits, lightly toasted malts, pineapple, and a fair amount of booze in the nose. The flavor is similarly quite strong with lots of tropical fruits and some solvent/ethanol notes. Not my favorite.

This was classed as a barleywine at Boulder Strong Ale. Could see it either way though...nice floral hops and biscuit with caramel malts. Like a cross between a English and American barleywine. Nose following taste plus some grapefruit hops but subtle.

On tap at Rackhouse poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, orange zest, pink grapefruit and light lemon zest. Palate wasmedium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, orange zest, pink grapefruit and a hint of lemon zest with a crisp dry moderatly bitter lingering citrus finish.

Tap at Strange - hazy burnished copper color - fairly decent head retention for the abv - aroma is sugar sweetness and strong tropical fruit - flavor is very sweet up front, with strong tropical notes of mango, orange, pineapple - strong alcohol flavor and a retro-nasal burn afterwards, followed by strong, lingering sweetness - given my experience with their last IIPA I should not be surprised, but I am still pretty sorry I ordered this.
