Pour on tap at Oskar Blues HMLS, dark orange pour, clear, with fluffy white head, aroma brought notes of grainy biscuit, vanilla, white pepper, yeasty spices with some slight clove, touch of grass and slight booze. Taste is a mix of some wet muddled grains, hint of white pepper, clove, some biscuit, white grape, caramel notes, hint of other slight fruits, finishing fairly sweet, pretty muddled, slight heat.
Earlier Rating: 10/8/2011 Total Score: 3.7
Poured hazy yellow with nice white head, aroma had notes of toffee, caramel, spice, biscuit, some fruit notes in there as well, fairly nice with a hint of funk as well. Taste is nice fruit, spice, and biscuit, some funky barn, hay, finishing with a touch of spice and more biscuit, finishing dry. Nicely done!

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
BlackForestCO (978) - Aurora, Colorado, USA - APR 7, 2012
On tap at the brewery. Poured a muddled copper-orange color with a moderate off-white head that faded to a ring and left some spotty lacing. Aroma of moderate spice, some fruit (orange), soft doughy yeast. Smooth, moderately fruity entry with some orange that transitions into a spicy yeastiness with moderate pepper that pair with a soft hop dryness that lingers into the finish. Moderate carbonation and decent dry bite. Overall, it seemed a little lacking in the dryness compared to the saffron, and a little less refined, but still a decent pick.

On tap @ Rackhouse. Poured a hazy amber, lacy off white head. Warming cinnamon, cherries, bread, malt. Taste is fruit, biscuit, spice. Medium mouthfeel and some bitterness on the finish. Hides ABV well.

briangray77 (14) - Colorado, USA - JAN 9, 2012
Classic belgian yeast in the nose, with slight spice notes. Dark straw color, but a bit hazey even for the type with a thin head that disipated quickly. Smooth alcohol taste without heat and a nice baking spice finish. A bit thin in the mouthfeel. Overall - drinkable though not memorable.

Pours yellow orange. Musky yeast & grain aromas. Full palate is hoppy but with a weird finish.

BMan1113VR (7869) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 1, 2011
On tap at Strange. Pours with a hazed golden hued body and a lasting white head. Aromas are spicy (phenols) with quite a few esters (notably apple). A rich saison yeast character. Flavors are medium bitter, spicy, phenol, clove. Medium bubbles, dry. Really nice saison yeast flavors (seemed Dupont-esque). I liked this quite a bit more than the Patience Saison.

Poured a reddish orange color with a good sized white head. On the nose, a little tart, yeasty with some spice. On the palate, this one is medium bodied, with flavors of Belgian spice, Belgian yeast and wheat.
