Part of a flight at the brewery. Fun to drink a beer with the word taint in the name. Pours pitch black. Dark roast and sharpie marker on the nose. Flavor is more sharpie marker with a nice, burnt wood flavor to complement it. Barely choked the taster down.

On tap at Rackhouse. Pour is deep brown with a small khaki head and decent lacing. Roasty, herbal, cocoa, light grass, and coca-cola, however, all notes are very faint. Taste is roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, grapefruit, and plastic with a medium bitter finish, but not a smooth hoppy bitterness, more like an astringent over-roasted coffee bitterness. Almost no hop presence. Light body with medium carbonation. Poorly executed and pretty harsh. Meh.

Draft at source. Dark brown towards black. Mostly lightly roasted malt and light caramel sweetness in the nose. Some plastic. Flavor is lightly roasted and toasted malt with mild sweetness and a moderate citrus and mild pine bitter backing. Lingering roast and citrus. Not a particularly memorable brew.

Another just decent beer - nothing compared to the Cherry Bomb. Pours black with off-white head. Roasty nose. Quite a dose of bitterness but nothing major with respect to hops in the nose or flavor.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a near black body with a lasting off-white head. Aromas are strongly roasty with coffee, chocolate and a hint of citrus. Flavors are quite bitter, chocolate, roast. Hops take a backseat; mostly citrus in nature. Medium to somewhat full bodied. Medium bubbles, somewhat dry and roasty in the finish.

Pours dark reddish black with off white head on tap at Strange brewing. Aroma has notes of roast, toffee, some slight pine needles and grass notes with some coffee. Taste is a slight hint of pine and grass, leading into toffee, coffee, some slight cocoa, finishing roasty and bitter. Not bad.
