3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled on 10/13/2012 at GABF. This spiced pale ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, slightly citrusy and herbal. A medium bodied pale ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy. Decent carbonation. A touch of rosemary. Nicely balanced beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

On tap at Strange this was quite the odd duck. Bright orange yellow color. It smelled like rosemary and roasted chicken was all I could think of. As I tasted it I was blasted by the rosemary and again couldn’t think of anything but a chicken dinner. This was just too odd but it would make a great beer for beer-can chicken.

My favorite of the large sampler tray. A nice balance of hops with a good dosing of rosemary. The herb plays nicely and adds a secondary flavor to the mix.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2012 Draught as part of a sampler, at the Strange tap room, on October 6, 2012
Marked on the board with 6.5% ABV and 57 IBU.
Murky orange color, off-white head. Hoppy, sage, lemon, citrus taste. Fresh lemon and sage aftertaste. Spicy and hoppy scent.
I might have confused the sage I felt with the rosemary, but my brain said sage. Didn’t know rosemary went in there until after I rated it.

Part of a flight at the brewery. Pours a bright, clear orange with a sticky head. Overpowered by rosemary with a bitter, medicinal bite at the end. Not my thing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at source. Amber pour. Solid nose of citrus, mild pine, and some fruity hop presence. Faint, faint, sweet rosemary. Some caramel malt. Flavor is initially some caramel malt that gives way to nice, even citrus/pine/grapefruit/mango hop bitterness. Again, faint sweet rosemary. Nice bitter finish, with enough malt to keep it from being too bitter/dry. A very nice pale that is very balanced.
