Fudge, cocoa, soil nose, not strong. Mahogany, thick tan head. Subtle wood and earth. Soft carbonation, medium body. Very sessionable, not boring, but doesn’t wow.

Bottle gifted by one of the founders. Poopy brown pour with a small sudsy off white head. Nose is nutty at first, but fairly muted overall, some light Belgian yeast. Mildly sour flavor, some light salt water taffy. Ugh.

Sampled at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with a thin head. No discernible malt aroma. Thin mouthfeel, low carbonation. Pleasant flavor, mildly malty with belgian yeast esters giving it some fruity undertones. Overall a pleasant, non confrontational beer.

Straight up watery chocolate milk in aroma and taste. No roast, no hop character at all. Pretty bad.

Draft at Strangeways. Murky mahogany. Aroma is chocolate and dark fruit with yeast notes and caramel. Lots of caramel, dark chocolate, dark fruit and subtle yeast. Body is medium with a moderate carbonation. Ends with more chocolate, caramel, dark fruit and faint yeast notes.

Foxbush (1280) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - SEP 19, 2013
Draft at the brewery. This was tasted with a group of men from New Ways. The ale poured a deep dark brown with a thin brown head. When we took a tour we were told they used chocolate malt for this beer. The aroma had some chocolate and roasted malt notes. The taste had chocolate, caramel malts and a hint of spice. The ale had nice body and average carbonation. The finish was clean with some spice and chocolate.
