3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A Bitter? No. An Irish Ale? Yes. A clear, reddish/copper body, mildly effervesced, under a short, sand-colored head. Malty aroma (pale and caramel) with little else than a whiff of lemon. A bit sharp on the tongue with a mineral-water bite. Mild, caramel-malt flavor with touches of honey sweetness atop a backdrop of Perrier. While this is a very, VERY mild beer, it’s inoffensive and addictively quaffable... a fine lawnmower beer. I really was not expecting much when I found a 6 pk. bottles for $4.99, but I ended up thinking this could be a nice St. Patrick’s Day offering for guests who think Smithwick’s might be a little too malty. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6 pk./12oz., Foremost Liquors, Oak Forest, IL

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle "from authentic imported Irish ingredients and ... brewed in the USA" (from label) served in a snifter.
Pours a clear, dark brown with a small but beige head that leaves some patchy lacing.
Aroma: fruity , malty and floral, in that order. Hints of toffee.
Taste: a nice mix of sweet caramel and medium malt with a touch of spicy/herbal hop bitterness. Some fruitiness in the taste suggesting apples, pears and a bit of dark fruits.
Mouthfeel: medium body with enough carbonation to impart some tongue tingle. Semi-dry.
O: Interesting take on the style Some complexity.

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Dark amber appearance. 1 finger off white head. Brown sugar and caramel. Hints of bitterness like an esb. Taste is bland and flat soda water. Maybe unsweetened root beer? Very odd taste.

3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours nearly clear red-brown with a short tan head.
Scent is light, sweet caramel and malt.
Taste is caramel and cola...some soft dark fruits.
Nice woody bitter...almost nutty.
An excellent drinker...not flashy, deserves much better numbers.
A great, solid beer.
