COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Stratford Brewing Company’s signature beer is Stratford Pilsner. Brewed in traditional style using all-natural ingredients, Stratford Pilsner is as smooth and graceful as the swans floating down the Avon River. Golden amber, crisp, and always fresh, it’s a beer that you’ll enjoy anytime, any season. Stratford Pilsner is brewed in small batches in our Stratford brewhouse by brewmaster Alan Peterson. We use only the finest malt, yeast and hops and follow traditional methods of brewing to produce a first-class pilsner. Stratford Pilsner is brewed using Stratford water, which is drawn from deep rock wells that are cased in bedrock.

Light malty flavour. Clear straw colour. Flavour of biscuit, malt, and bread. Light body with mild carbonation. Pleasant to sip, but not too demanding.

Actually a lot more decent than I hoped for. Smell is a little malty, pours golden with no head. High carbonation. Taste has a definite bitter crsip at the end. A little grain musk as well. Not bad.

On tap at "The Parlour" in Stratford. Clear pale yellow. A mild grainy pilsener with a hoppy finish that ends off quite bitter. A perfectly fine pilsener.

Bottle. Pours a rather bland gold. Somewhat bitter grassy hops. Wheat... Fairly bland lager. Would’ve scored it lower, but the hops seemed more noticeable when I had another bottle...

Bottle The Emmet Ray, College Street, Toronto. Pours golden amber with medium, fast disappearing head. Fruit notes in faint aroma. Slightly acidic, pronounced carbonation, quite full bodied for the style.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2011 Bottle. Poured clear light golden brown with small head that retains. Very grassy/hay aroma. Flavour is very similar with light grassy finish. Smooth finish.

341 ml bottle in a 6-pack from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear golden with a so-so white foam. Aroma: Biscuit, cereals/grains, some fruitiness, light caramel and maybe a little butterscotch, a little toast, seems too fruity and Ale-like for a Pils. Palate: Medium body, moderate effervescence and a bit of Pils smoothness. Flav.: Biscuit, toast, caramel and a hint of butterscotch, apple juice, vague fruitiness, not getting much in the way of hops, a touch metallic; dry with a touch of bitterness and a biscuit and lightly fruity finish.

Too must Ale character, in my opinion. Misses the mark.

Bottle. Very disappointed in this one. Went looking for a “wedding beer” to serve to non-craft drinking guests.. the nose is horrid and the taste wasn’t much better. Pours a pale fool’s gold with very high carbonation. Clean tasting, but with a bit of fruit and grape. Slightly sweet with a wood like dryness.

Bottle consumed 9-12-09...A foul smelling beer like bad gas and rotting cheese...the smell makes my stomach turn....oh and its the color of straw and urine..."it smells like your pee after a meal of asparagus" -P...it does two things in the mouth....a burst of sweet....then bad tainted malts...drain pour!!

341 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear bright yellow/gold with small white cap. Sweet malt prominent in the nose with some citrus. Flavour is fairly sweet, lightly biscuity with some very apparent cirtus hops. Crisp citrusy finish. Nothing special.
