Cask; Regular. Sold as Tobyís IPA at the Toby Jug in Glasgow.
A refreshing drink made with Maris Otter malted barley and Clyde Valley hops.
It is a light coloured IPA making it an especially pleasant session ale which captures the pedigree of the famous draught horses still to be seen around the Strathaven area.

Little on the nose. Strong citrus flavours. Light fizz. Relatively unexciting IPA.

Cask by handpump at Pot Still, Glasgow - clear golden amber, thin creamy off-white head, floral aroma, high carbonation, initial sweetness, somewhat bland, mild citrus, thin bodied

0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a near clear golden one with a small bubbly off-white head and some small sediments. On the aroma itís light caramel-ish and buttery. Quite low, some grains and sweet corns perhaps? Dull and not exciting. Itís average carbonated with a thin and watery texture. Flavors are also light buttery, some thin caramel perhaps. Kinda low on the bitterness, and the little traces of hops thatís actually in this one tastes old and not to good. Drinkable but quite boring and forgettable. 16.06.2012

Cask. Light golden colour, aroma is a touch hoppy and floral, taste is citrusy and not much else. Canít say I enjoyed it a great deal.

Bottle from Centra Colosseum, Oslo, shared with BBGTC. Clear golden body, tiny white head. Herbal flowery hop tones to the nose, flanked by diacetyl-ish buttery notes and hints of pale malts. Taste is butterscotch, pale malts and some thin-ish hop tones in the back. Faint and weak. Body is thin and watery. IPA my ass; even with the widest of definition this is nowhere near the genre...

Pours clear light golden with a thin white film on top. Aroma is light hoppy and malty. Taste is moderate bitter citrussy hops, high carbonated, lingering spicy bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Centra. Pale gold, very run of the mill English ale. The connection with the horses escapes me. Light citrus hops, rather bland and anonyomous.

0.5 L bottle, obtained @Centra Colosseum, Oslo. A layer of blond fisheyes, on a pale gold colored body with good clarity. Light aroma of sweet creamed caramel and earthy, lightly spiced hops. Light malt body. Sweet-accented caramel malts with a certain raw harshness to it. Mild bitterness. Earthy and light fruity hop flavors, with a note of cardboard. Sourish malt tones in the finish. A decent beverage, but not very well conditioned and past its prime.

Tasted this at the Esquire house, Glasgow (JDW) in July 2006. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear straw in colour with a thin white creamy head. Faint aroma of lemon peel, short in intensity. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt delivers a digestive biscuit base with citric grapefruit and lemon notes full in the mouth. Barley grain and dusty lemony hops compliment the malt well, giving a bitter resiny aftertaste. Finish is hoppy with lemon pith left in the palate. A refreshing summer session IPA and well recommended.
