Cask; Regular. Sold as Toby’s IPA at the Toby Jug in Glasgow.
A refreshing drink made with Maris Otter malted barley and Clyde Valley hops.
It is a light coloured IPA making it an especially pleasant session ale which captures the pedigree of the famous draught horses still to be seen around the Strathaven area.

On tap at Wetherspoon in New Town Edinburgh (under 2 pounds stirling). This beverage isn;t bad, nor great but better than average. Having been brewed in a 17th century building on the banks of the river Avon does not hurt this ale one bit. Rather a light (in the Scottish sense) summer beer.

1/2 pint cask, Abbotsford, Edinburgh. Bright golden colour with a small coarse white head. Glass is full of bubbles, so there seems to be quite a bit of carbonation in the beer. Nose is restrained, but there are some citrusy hops in the background. A more malty crisp hop aroma is more evident after a little while. Very flat, but smooth mouthfeel and a slight oily texture. Beer is served quite warm. Finishes with a light bitterness.

This is an excellent beer and im glad i found it in my wee tasting session in the bon accord. Aroma is grapefruit and grassy hops, very nice. Taste has the same flavours however theres a creamy texture that adds some depth to it but makes it soo drinkable. A wonderful beer, and i can assure you it is not retired.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2006 A little sour, it smelled. Orange and gold in colour at the same time. It is good to know this brewery is back in bussiness.
